1. Very excited to play the Eagles. They look awesome on offense and are 2nd in interceptions I believe. Bad weather wont help us as Vick could go crazy running. Great test of where our defense really is.

2. Detroit? - I see a win

3. Patriots? - Tough team, but not the same Patriots as years before. Their defense is ranked 18th against the run & 30th against the pass. I have the Bears but would not feel strongly about it as I feel the teams are evenly matched. Brady is tough to go against when you need a win

4. In 3 weeks the Vikings will be eliminated. TJ will likely be running around in the backfield throwing picks. The coach will be a lame duck and the players will be packed and ready to go home. Win

5. You realize the Jets have only beaten one team with a winning record? (Patriots Wk 2) and needed OT to beat Detroit AND CLeveland in the last couple weeks? They are the biggest example of NY media bias. Win.

6. Greenbay? Hate to say it but if it comes down to this game, even though Lovie plays them tough up there, I'm not taking us in Greenbay with what will most likely be crap weather......Loss....HOMER UPDATE!!!!! Bears Win 472 to -6.

So really I do see 3 wins at Detroit at Minn and the Jets and 3 very tough games. Hopefully we pull out 1 of the tough games.

10-6

Oh...and please note...I did not "Bump" this thread.

Now that a Miami victory is in the books, this is what I had as well. 10-6.

3-3 to finish 10-6, not too bad.

We should be able to pull of victories in Detroit and Min, hopefully we can pick up another win (or two) somewhere.

Cliff Levingston thought 10-6 was pretty unrealistic considering the murder that is our second half schedule. However, Minnesota isn't as tough as they looked to start the season, obviously. We notched a big win against Philly. That game against Washington would sure look nice in the win total right now; thank Jay for being a dumbass that game and chucking the game away.

We should beat Detroit, but they're better than 2-9 and it's a trap game. Furthermore, they'll have had 10 days to prepare and will be eager for revenge for week 1. Minnesota is playing better and will be eager to play spoiler against us, while Green Bay will extremely tough at home to wrap up the regular season. New England might be one of the easier teams to beat, as stupid as that sounds, considering their defense isn't nearly as good as the others we'll face. The Jets scare Cliff Levingston because of that great defense and offensive line. If we could end up 3-2, we'll be 11-5, which is crazy.

Chicago Bears defensive end Julius Peppers was named NFC Defensive Player of the Month, and quarterback Jay Cutler earned NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors

This will be a great end to a solid season. Sitting at 9-4. Second best record in the NFC. I didn't have the Patriots as a win and they proved that they are truly beasty as my kids would say. Best 2 things about that game is 1- Its over and 2- We don't play the Patriots again.

Now comes the good part:

@ Vikings - I still see a win here. especially if we have to play outside and we have one extra day than Min prepare. If they lose to the Giants tomorrow they will be eliminated and I like our chances even more. Its not a must win (close to it) but if we do win it then I think the division is ours. The Pack are likely to lose next week and that could give us a 2 game lead.

VS Jets - This is a must win. And I've had this as a win all season in my book. The jets are sooooooo overrated its not funny. They just lost to the Dolphins at home. I have this as a win.

@ Packers - I'm now thinking it won't come down to this game. If we win at Min & then at home vs Jets and the Pack lose on the road to the Beastriots, we will have the division locked up. If we split those games, and lose this this one, and the Pack split, then it would come down to the 3rd tie breaker (Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games). But again, I don't see it coming down to that.

I see 2 more victories that puts us at 11-5 or at worst, we beat the Jets to go 10-6 and then need a lot of help to get into the Playoffs.

The Packers losing to the Lions was huge for us. I have to go back and check out the playoff machine again to see what a difference that makes.

Here's what I come up with. If the Bears win just 1 game and the Packers lose to the Patriots and Giants, then the week 17 game does not matter except playoff positioning.

This will be a good season, but I fear that they might be one and done in the playoffs, then miss out on the playoffs next season. Only once in the last 20 years has this team had back-to-back playoff seasons... Regardless, I'll enjoy the ride for now.

I love being wrong if it means a division title in Chicago

After the draft, I found a way where the Bears could go 9-7 but that was my "if everything goes right" scenario:
viewtopic.php?p=23148585#p23148585

I cooled down on that prediction after seeing this team look dead in the preseason going 0-4 though.

I'm still POed at the Washington and Seattle games, we should have won both.

EMPEROR JONES PREDICTS......The Bears will go at least 10-6.....

This is the basis of my 10-6 prediction. I actually think they could go 11-5 but I don't feel like losing my sig to Chewie again if he decides to come back to this board

A win next week and we reach 12-4???!!!??? Even I would have said that's out of reach. In the preseason I thought the floor for this team was 9-7 with an upside of 11-5. Just imagine if we didn't lose to the Redskins & Saints! But maybe if we didn't Cutler would be on IR by now.
