Avaliablity of Robin Lopez

Post#1 » by Stun704 » Mon Dec 27, 2010 7:45 am

Hey, bobcats fan here, I have two questions, is Robin Lopez available since yall traded for a starting caliber C in Gortat? and Could the bobcats and suns make a simple trade where Bobs recieve Robin, and the suns get someone of equal value? I was thinking since you guys seem to want Diaw back, we could have a trade involving Diaw as the center piece with Robin and filler. Any feedback apperciated, thanks.

Sign me up

edit: nevermind. Diaw is making too much for the Suns to trade for Lopez. I wouldn't throw in Childress for Diaw. Lopez and JChill is too much for Diaw.

I looked in your trade thread and saw some wants for Stephen Jackson.. how about a trade like this

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=2ejonen

I understand Hakeem Warrick is a bad contract? would that work? or some modificaitons to it would work?

It's only been two games with this new squad and we already have our players on the block?

I just assumed Gortat would be the starting C, and you could use robin lopez as trade bait for vets to give you guys a better chance to get deep into the playoffs

Gortat isn't starting caliber and he is less talented than Lopez.

Besides teams need more than 1 center.

i don´t see all that talent in lopez. this guy can´t move, rebound and if he desides to play d he is called for silly fouls.. damn, i don´t see how lopez has more talent than gortat. totally disagree on youre point, sorry.

Props to the great one

His 10minutes of playing time last night agrees with you too, pidi. Or rather, Gentry agrees with you.

To think we are talking about the same dude who demolished a door last season because of poor play in practice. I just.... I mean.... I dont even know anymore...

I would do a trade that would involve Hakim Warrick and Lopez for Diaw.. I'm not sure if that ould be good enough for the Bobcats or even the salaries matched up.

So I checked the ESPN NBA trade machine and I think that this trade works good for both teams. Your opinion.

Suns trade:
Robin Lopez (1.8 mil)
Hakim Warrick (4.2 mil)
Josh Childress (6.2 mil)
Orlando's 2011 1st round pick
outgoing salary:12.2 mil

Bobcats trade:
Boris Diaw (9 mil)
Tyrus Thomas (6.6 mil)
Out going salary: 15.6 mil

Why for the Bobcats:
They get a 22 year athletic Center in Robin Lopez. He just doesn't seem to click with Steve Nash and it seems like hes falling out of Gentry favor. In Josh Childress, they get what they lose in Tyrus Thomas. An athletic small forward who can penetrad to the basket. He's also a very good defender (ask Durant) and a very good rebounder. Hakim Warrick is a nice player but having Gortat, Frye and Lopez is hurting his value. Hakim Warrick is a highlight reel ready to happen and is good weak side defender. The Bobcats would be taken less salary coming in (2.9 mil) and would also get a 1st round draft pick.

Why for the Suns:
The Suns desperatly need a Power Forward and Diaw seems to fit the bill. Why? He's played here before and is familiar with what the Suns already do.As far as Tyrus, we can do the trade without Tyrus, but we can't do the trade without Childress. And you guys wuould be in the same postion that the Suns are current in with a bunch of wings. Tyrus I beleive would thrive in the Suns system especially with Nash.

Overall, I beleive this is a fair trade. Your thoughts Stun704? or am I still kind of drunk?lol

Only way I package Lopez with a 1st and other players is if we get a legitimate PF back.

Neither Boris fraking Diaw or Tyrus Thomas accomplish that.

In addition, Stun704, and this is just my opinion, the Suns give up more talent and financial flexibility to get Jackson. I think Vince will be able to be a more efficient "Jackson", at least next to Nash. Diaw is a non-starter for me. Other on here, for whatever reason, seem to forget his masive lack of interest in the game of basketball.

That being said, I like Thomas, always have. I feel like he is misunderstood as a player because he is misused by coaches. I think he would be insane as a component of our 2nd unit.

A Dragic, Pietrus, Dudley, Thomas, Frye 2nd string is explosive.

If the Bobcats deal, I think it will be to cut salary.

Why trade Lopez ? He is a bargain backup center at 2 mill per for this and next yr.

Keep the BoyBlunder, we will not get much of an upgrade in return.

I'd love Tyrus here but the only way we deal Lopez is if he's in a deal that gets us the Missing Piece - which case his value far exceeds his salary so we'd have to unload some contracts along with him. Warrick yes, Chills, no

like Frank said - you don't trade a starter who makes $2 mil

Sorry we're not trading Tyrus, But we'll gladly give Diaw back for a resonable package hopefully involving Lopez

As if a bunch of idiots on an internet forum dictate what trades will or will not happen.

Lol: "Sorry we're not trading Tyrus."
