Not looking so much anymore. Glancing blow. We'll be lucky to get an inch or two.

Yeah, Ji with the major jinx job, which is he best at accomplishing. It's a la nina year so getting decent storms will be difficult. I'm sorry I missed some of the best snows being in Richmond last winter but at least we did well. It must have been epic in the DC area.

ya this threat is over. La Nina means progressive patterns and nearly impossible to bundle all the energy to get a big storm over the Mid Atlantic.

It looked good for a while but last night all the models took the storm out to sea

Does that mean the snow falls from the ground up to the sky? That's some trick.

8 inches will most likely shut the city down Monday. Looking forward to it.

How is it historic? Boston gets 15 inch snowstorms every winter.

I follow Capital Weather on the post website, and this time last week, they were like, yeah we might get snow, but not much. Mid-week they were thinking 50/50 chance, then something happened between Thursday and Friday where they said we might get 3-6 inches. Then Sunday morning, they said we might get an inch. We probably got a dusting, if that. It looks like it was one of those storms where if it was a few miles off, we would have gotten pelted.

it was historic in NJ and NY where many spots reported 25-30 inches. It was a really tough forecast for places west of 95. Some of the models had us in heavy snow...some had us in no snow...some had us in the middle but in the end, we were simply too far west for this powerful noreaster

one of the models(The GFS) on saturday mornings run gave DC 12-16 inches. The next run, it gave us 2-4 inches. This was one day before the storm when models are suppose to be locked in!

How much snow did we get? In DC, its hard to tell, last night it looked like a lot, but this morning it looked like only a couple of inches fell.

Yeah, I'm in Germantown and it's 5 at least. Probably closer to 6 IMO.

Cool - another Gaithersburger. I dug my car out of ice plowed on by our excellent plower. Managed to get to work in Bethesda only to find out - the building's power is out where I work. Shady Grove Road was quite a show yesterday. 270 wasn't bad at all, but I heard 355 was a nightmare once you got up to Germantown.
