back from my rant. i honestly think we are just going through the motions. minues a few games we have been right there in every loss, and then for some reason we just start playing stupid. i hate to sound like a broken record but i have said it before and i will say it again. we are attempting to do something that not even kobe and shaq did,and that's go to four straight finals and win three rings in the process. playing deep into june take alot out of you. i still believe in us in a 7 game series. come on lakeshow get it together and give some of us a reason to start believing again. a loss can't be taken back so time to move on to the next game.
Only on realgm is 27,000 points, 5 rings, 1 rs mvp and 2 finals mvp considered overrated!

Basically. Some of the stuff being said here is :o

The Spurs are the Spurs and the Hornets are great at home, so I didn't expect a 2-0 trip. And if they go 0-2, that would suck. But it still wouldn't be doomsday. It's December.

The good news is Bynum's starting to come around a bit.

If you think I was implying the Spurs and Hornets are not good teams off my post you are sadly mistaken.

Yep, great article.

Coming into this season I was hoping that Kobe would be taking no more than 18 shots per game in 35 or so minutes, but he's taking closer to 20 in only 33 minutes. PER 36 he's taking the 2nd highest attempts of his career. On top of that he's been acting like a really immature prick this year, constantly complaining and making an ass out of himself. It's embarrassing, really. His whole act has gotten old and it's made watching Lakers games almost unbearable. The one thing we need most right now is leadership, and both Kobe and Fisher are nowhere to be found.

You know... I'm usually pretty quick to call Kobe out when he does something bad...

But personally, I just read the situation as Kobe saying "If you guys aren't going to play like you mean it, then give me the ball and I'll see what I can do.... Just stand around and watch."

He looks like he knows that it's time for everyone to start getting it together, but he doesn't see anyone stepping up.

Gasol just gave up on D a bunch of times last night. Fish was useless, and when is Blake going to become the answer at PG he was supposed to be off the bench?

I think these guys are just a little too confident and calm.

If I was GM, I'd be on the phone and that comfortable little group would be shaken up.

Before the game I thought Artest would have been my likely choice for trade but I actually liked how he attacked in the first. He just needs to do more of it... He's slow but there aren't many guys strong enough to keep him away from the hoop if he attacks, and that really takes some pressure off the other bigs.

Once Shannon's hot shooting fades, it exposes everything that's bad about his game. His ball handling, his inability to make a proper pass, lack of a proper basketball brain and not to mention his half assed attempts at defense.

I still can't understand his logic in running around with his head down to distract a shooter than just putting up his arm and using his athleticism to challenge the shot.

He's lucky Kobe stank worse than him yesterday.

Doesn't see anyone step up? As the leader and the franchise player of this team who will be paid 24-30 mil in the next four years, he has to be the first guy who plays like he's worth his contract. Yet, for most of the season he's more of a negative than a positive for the team. He complains all the time whenever things don't go his way, he is slacking off when it comes to anything other than shooting the ball, and worst of all he's not making most of his shots. You talk about Gasol not playing defense or the role players not playing their role, but they're playing their roles much better than Kobe does his. Kobe has to step up before the other guys does the same. If Kobe doesn't think that way then he's just being irresponsible.

As of right now I dont want to see kobe driving or posting up- He gets stripped by any decent defender.

He should be more like and be a catch and shoot player ( ala ray allen ) and not dominate the ball when he isnt hitting his fadeaways.

The team has PLENTY OF OPTIONS-lamar, pau, andrew bynum, even ron artest.
It is a travesty to see kobe chuck like its 2005 all over again.

About Kobe:

1) That was the 2nd game in the last 10 he put up 20+ shots.
2) Before Christmas, he was shooting 50% for the month, and playing perfectly fine.

So yes, he had his worst game of the year, which is particularly embarrassing since it came after calling out his teammates. That doesn't mean he needs to be Ray Allen. That just means he needs to play like he was playing a few weeks ago.
