Panic Button

Post#1 » by TXSun » Thu Dec 30, 2010 4:48 am

Yes sir I've said it. it's time to hit that panic button. Losers of 4 in a row and 8 of 10. Back to back losses to the Clipps and 76ers, two teams we have dominated this decade. Philly dropping 123 on us at home. we find ourselves 2 games out of the 8th spot. Memphis and Houston have a better record than us. All of a sudden we don't have a bench and only have 1 true center again and 1 true PG again. Our best player at times, Warrick, logs in only 10 minutes? WTF is going on!!! we're in panic mode now.

I'm still waiting for someone to explain why Memphis sends him.

Our only expiring really counts for 4M against the cap next year. If they want relief just let Z-Bo expire. They sure don't want a bunch of mediocre wings either.

Gentry's softness and inability to coach is killing the Suns a trade for a power forward and send Gentry as a bonus because he has proven he can't coach this team to many players and no power forwards doesn't help either.

Naaah.... this is the uncomfortable adjustment period when an average team makes a trade and tries to get everyone incorporated/figured out. Clearly we have some problems with our rotations, but there is talent on this team. I think another trade is imminent. But not quite ready to hit the Big Red Button.

The 'effort' is more of a concern to me. We are a different team the last part of a game. They hustle, scramble and scrap when down by 8 with 4 to go. Where is that play the other 44 minutes?

Problem:
We're not playing JChill.

Problem:
No legit post presence.

Problem:
No prospects to develop. Goran Dragic is a borderline prospect (though he could be going through a "second year" slump since it's his rookie year last year, technically). RoLo is probably a role player.

Problem:
Players don't have a sense of emergency.

Problem:
(Most) Players don't have the burden of having the need to prove everyone wrong, which was a major motivation last year.

Problem:
Fans at the game don't cheer.

Problem:
Management doesn't have a clear cut direction. We're neither contending nor rebuilding (whereas we were doing both last year, ironically).

Cancer:
Robert Sarver
Phoenix Suns
San Francisco 49ers
UCLA Bruins

Come on man... we have some ballers.... We are experiencing the negative part of Gentry's learning curve on his personnel. 6 new guys to start the season, 3 new guys 2 months in... On a team so based on chemistry, we have been shaking up the test tube

Again, tell where the talent is and how we will use it. Is a"baller" Carter? Pietrus? Frye? Lopez? Please enlighten me. And just why are we "so based on chemistry". Big point, but why?

Players I want to keep: Dragic,Gortat,Pietrus,Dudley,Lawal.....everyone else can be trade bait for a rebuild for all I care. I'm tired of watching the Geriatric Suns play no defense. But, as we all know, Sarver licks donkey butt so we know we aren't going to cash in on the value that Nash has to a contender, particularly Atlanta.

Who must go:

Robert Sarver first and foremost.

Have to cut the head off the untamed dragon to kill it first.

Needs to sell the team to an owner who knows what he's doing.

I wouldn't even consider Dragic to be a starting caliber point guard. I think he is better suited for being a role player.

our rotation is all screwed up right now. the distribution of minutes is a disgrace. I blame that on Gentry. coaching needs to be ready, we need to have a plan prior to tipoff for every game. Gentry looked like a rookie coach out there. he seemed lost to me. I saw all 48 minutes of this stupid game, and Gentry coached a very bad game.

Our problems:
-We STILL lack a good PF, or at least a good post scorer and rebounder.
-We keep picking up wings. We need to trade two of them for a good PF.
-Our team has a lack of chemistry and no passion to win.
-Dragic is becoming a ball-hog again, and Lopez is the same crappy player he's always been, which makes me wonder why people have hope in him.
-Gentry. i liked him last year for being soft and encouraging our bench and bringing the team together. but he's already done that. that sh*t's over. he needs to take it to the next damn level already
-Gentry's rotations. Is he KIDDING me? I don't understand why f*cking LOPEZ is starting. i dont even understand why he plays. We finally got a decent C with energy and defense, but we bring him off the bench. Nash needs someone to set him good picks with the starting 5, and gortat is the only one that does that, not lopez.
-WTF is the front office waiting for? why have they killed this much time ALREADY. get a good coach, get a good roster (as in dump two SF's and pick up a good big).

This is what our roster needs to look like in order to contend:

Nash-Dragic
Carter-Dudley
Hill-Pietris
Good PF (hopefully Randolph or Brand)-Warrick
Gortat-Frye

oh, and obviously, someone needs to buy the suns from Sarver. he's clearly a moron. same with those pathetic excuses for GM's. i'm sure with the right price, even just a decent one, Sarver would take the offer.
