Over the last few seasons what has kept you coming back each year to support the Jays?

i dunno what is it, probably because i'm from toronto. while i was away for the past two years studying in europe, i'd follow the team and watch the games live. that means 1am games if playing in the east coast.

The potential of the team and also I am a Toronto fan, and wish and hope for the day we are a good team, never know when we could be that Cinderella story. Same reason I bet on sports loll I am a hopeful and always think what if! Toronto till the day I die or wait till the day they win! =)

love the game itself although not a hardcore baseball guy. Love the strategy. Watched the jays on tv/went to more games last year than years past for one main reason: they're not pretending to be a team they are not. It is what it is & with AA, I like that he underpromises with the hopes of having the team overachieve.

I quit watching the team for a while but I've been following them more the last few years because I like the direction they are headed, and the philosiphy that the team has employed to building a club. It's something that I can support, and a breath of fresh air in a city that seems to love "win now" moves.

I wouldn't support this team if they were named the yellow jays.

Unlike other sports, baseball is still fun or interesting sport to follow even when your team sucks. Put another way, you can not watch games altogether and still follow baseball.

When there appears to be a coherent plan in place to build a team using all available resources--the draft, trades and timely free agent signings--hope springs up and the building process is as fun to watch as the actual game. To me this is happening with the Jays and, although I have always been a fan, there is a sense of purpose with this general manager that has really caught my attention.

Living in Toronto. It's also the only sport going on during the summer (along with tennis, but there isn't a tennis tournament every day).

For me it's:
1. The Love of the Game: Played as long as I could and umpired just as long. I love all of the intricacies of the game.
2. Convenience/Frequency of Games: I like knowing that virtually every night I come home, I can plop myself down on the couch and watch a couple of hours of entertainment.
3. Lack of Competition in the Pro Sports Market: Baseball has a stranglehold on the pro sports market for a significant part of the summer
4. Memories of 92-93: I'm not sure if I'd be nearly the Jays fan I am today had those magical world series wins not happened. There was never a happier sports time ever for me.
5. Transactions: Baseball isn't very active in terms of trades but free agency is interesting. The draft and all of its signings also provides enough fodder to keep me entertained a long time.
6. The Constant Underdog Status: As **** as it is, the Jays are in the toughest division in all of sports and as such, each victory feels so much more meaningful than it would otherwise.
7. The Crapiness of Other Toronto Teams: As hard as it is to cheer for a team with no chance in hell to make it to the post-season, the Jays are the only team in the city who is consistently not awful.

Because they're all I've got in the sports world during the summer. And someday they will be good. Someday.

great memories growing up and coming down to the dome.

Livnig in Toronto

Playing high level baseball since childhood

Reasonably affordable tickets

Frequency of games

For me, it'll never be about how good or bad the team is. I've always been interested in the jays and baseball in general, and I always will be.
