Hayes out 2-4 weeks with sprained ankle

Post#1 » by rocketsballin » Fri Dec 31, 2010 1:01 am

HOUSTON (AP)—Houston Rockets forward Chuck Hayes(notes) will miss 2-4 weeks after spraining his right ankle in practice Thursday.

The 6-foot-6 Hayes had an MRI and an X-ray that showed a “moderate to severe” sprain, the team said.

i didnt even see anything yesterday, this is so randomly effed up. also a perfect opportunity for morey to trade for a defensive big that we desperately need. w/o hayes we might as well start tanking cause january is the toughest month. 17 games and only 4 vs lottery teams, 2 of which are New york and Memphis, other two LAC and T'wolves. So only 2 games are for sure wins, another 2 games might win, and the rest vs playoff teams.

if we dont getta trade done we are officially screwed.

the official story is that this happened in practice.

What really happened is that he was fighting Megatron and Starscream got a cheap shot in on his leg. What a little bitch Starscream is!

Battier will also play some power forward, depending on who the other team is. That means we might see a bit of Terrence Williams in the lineup also.

how much you want to bet that Jeffries and Patterson will see playing time before Williams?

Patterson will definitely see the floor, never said he wouldn't. I hope Jeffries doesn't get any minutes he is absolutely terrible.

It's a bigger loss than people would realize, what he's able to do against post players/opposing PF's, and his drastic improvement in his offensive game, mainly FT% was a nice compliment in the starting lineup. Saying that though, I'm interested to see how Hill handles being a starter for more than a couple games in a row. He brings more size/shot-blocking, with a much greater offensive capability. And as we saw in the Toronto game, Patterson showed why he was touted as one of the NBA's most ready players coming out of the draft. Sometimes we think Morey is building up all these assets/players to consolidate for a superstar (I am on that boat), but maybe it's just to make the team as deep as possible since it's almost inevitable for us to catch the injury bug.
