Tyler Hansbrough : Struggling

Post#1 » by jcodbf2 » Fri Dec 31, 2010 5:34 am

Tyler started the year going something like 26 of 44 from the field... Has since gone 11 of 40ish. Dont know if the DNPs have caused him to press a bit making him speed himself up or what but he needs to get back on track offensively.

I really like him and think he is probably the best offensive rebounder on the team next to or = to Foster.

It's not being used to the game speed. Paul George had 2 turnovers the other night probably because he hasn't seen the floor in forever.

It's being used to consistent minutes. Also, the offense is less improvised as is was in the earlier parts of the season...so it's now stagnant and suffocating. And Collison, Hansbrough, George, and Hibbert's stats have to suffer.

When Hansbrough's minutes have been so sparatic I'm not surprised when he struggles with his shot. Throw in the varying duration of time he gets when he does play and I can see where finding an offensive rythem would be really difficult. The way he is being used now about all that can reasonably be expected is good effort, defense and rebounding.

Given where he was drafted and who we passed on to take him, I struggle with the logic of not using him. Is he really going to be that much worse than McRoberts and Posey? In the meantime the perception that we wiffed on that pick is being fueled.

Everyone's struggling at this point. It can't be easy either when you are seldom used and never know when you'll actually play either.
