Believe me, if the Lakers offered Bynum+Odom+Artest+Caracter+Ebanks for Melo+Nene+Shelden Williams+Melvin Ely the Nugs would kiss Mitch's feet and take the deal in a heartbeat and I wouldn't be that upset with LA for offering that deal, though I think they could get Melo for less.

I think a Odom+Artest+Caracter+Ebanks+Cash+Picks for Melo+Williams+Ely would get it done.

I could also see the above deal landing us Josh Smith+Zaza+Evans from the Hawks, Granger+Foster from the Pacers, Iggy+Hawes+Battie from the 76'ers, Crash+Diaw from the Bobcats and possibly Deng+Taj+KT from the Bulls.

Fisher/Bryant/Anthony/Gasol/Bynum.

I love it, but I only want to trade the Walton and Smith.

Melo for Pau yes or no?

Post#43 » by lakeshow248 » Fri Dec 31, 2010 8:30 am

Boston and Miami are teams to beat plain and simple. Do you go with for my money the best pure scorer in NBA in Melo w/ a healthy Bynum and Kobe and bet it all or just go through motions and lose with current lineup.

For me it's like this Phil and his triangle will be gone baby gone next year. A new coach W/ Kobe a year older at 33, and still damn good, w/ a interior of Pau and Bynum and Odom or do you now go for the home run and get Melo the best pure scorer in NBA and combine him w/ Kobe and Drew to form the passing of Laker greatness. Melo is 26 and Drew 23 for me the risk is worth the reward.

This deal can be done and I know the lakers have won back to back but they won't get three. Melo would secure three and possibly many more.

Health is a concern for Drew but if he holds up this team would rip Boston and Miami a new one. Fish, kobe, drew, odom and Melo. Blake, brown, barnes, smith, theo, luke bring it.....be a bold move but lets face it winning west conf will not beat east with this team. Future bridge, and if anyone watches the game like I do Melo in traffic is amazing best finisher inside in the world. Even lakers double team him and they hate to do that, he is unguardable.

Lol you guys are fools for saying no. Gasol against Big Z and KG is invisible. Melo is best scorer in Nba and W / Kobe he could become the next great Laker. They say Big three, lakers only have one w/ Kobe against elite teams. They need Melo to sustain the championship run and games against Miami and boston will dictate that soon enough.

Check out Pau's stats against Heat and Celtics this year and that will give you the answer. Hell he gets owned by Nene in Denver as well. And I hate when he flops trying to get a charge, that ain't B ball.

Dont' get me wrong Pau is great against 27 other teams but Big Z owns him along W Kg and Nene . Melo can't be stopped by anyone one on one and he is 26 w/ a 23 year old drew sky is limit especially w/ the GOAT Kobe Bryant showing the way.

I'm against the idea, but that's only because I realize that Bryant and Anthony aren't a good fit for one another. Their styles don't complement one another.

Maybe Bynum for Melo, but we need Gasol if u want to win now. With Bynum with don't know if he will remain healthy, he always has some freak injury.

KG is a defensive anchor so of course its going to be difficult to score against him so what are you talking about? So Pau didn't have a good game, you act like Z is gonna own him every single game in a 7 game series and Nene is not your average center he's very athletic, and again he's not going to shut Pau down in a 7 game series.
The answer is "NO".
Our only advantage over teams is our length why would we trade that?

He was a huge part of winning two titles and he is a better PF than a C. With Bynum back it will allow Pau to play in space. Melo is a nice player but has not proven to be a leader or that he can play with other players.

Gasol is 30yo... With a lot of mileage between the worlds and the NBA... They don't want him anyway...

If they part with Mello, I think they realize they're rebuilding... They'll be looking to shed salary, get picks and prospects...

They might take someone like Odom or Gasol to tie them over, but it wouldn't be their first choice, and I don't think they'll pursue them that hard.

If I had to guess, they'd probably want Bynum....

Which works straight up financially but probably wouldn't work from a basketball perspective.

I think the only way we'd give up on Bynum would be if we could get Nene and maybe Ty Lawson in return as well and I don't think we could do that without including Odom and convincing Shannon Brown to go too...

All in all, I just don't think we're getting Mello...
Never have rice at Hanzo's house...
