I agree on Favors, but is it more shocking that he hasn't been able to crack the starting lineup and produce consistently, or that ET hasn't??

Either way, I would be fine in a deal that brings in Favors.

I read an article on that particular situation. Derrick isn't getting any love from Avery Johnson for specific reasons and some of it has to do with his un-aggressive demeanor and Humphries beasting the offensive boards.

Also, if we did that type of deal, are we playing favors at C?

I think the value of Favors is much higher than people here believe. If Thorn and Collins think favors is a future star, I would play him at his best position. I would not pass on a future star because I am worried about our lineup for this year. I am focused on long term goals.

If Thorn and Collins don't believe Favors is a special talent, then this deal wouldn't happen because this would be too much to give up if you didn't think you were gambling on a future All-Star big man.

I have a feeling Collins doesn't feel Favors is a "future star / special talent." I mean, if Collins thought that, why wouldn't we have picked him? No matter how special he thought Turner was going to be, if you think you have a future star big man who is only 18, you take him or find a way to move down and get him.

I personally think Favors will be something special, but at the same time there isn't really a deal that makes sense for him unless New Jersey flat out gives up on Melo.

I still don't see how we move Iggy and our 1st in a deal that makes us significantly WORSE this year.

And I don't think Collins would plug Favors into the starting line up over Brand, who is beasting, unless Favors earns it (which would piss off a bunch of people on this board), because the way Favors is playing he'd be getting Evan Turner type minutes.

I can see a Iggy/Speights--->Favors/_____________, but i can't see us adding more than that at this point.

I agree with Foshan, except I see Favors as a center for the most part. If Iguodala & Speights went in a deal like that, I think that's when you just go ahead and start Turner at SF and Favors at C and just let them do their thing.

Either that or start the Thad/Brand combo and have Favors/Hawes come off the bench as a good fitting tandem.

^if we did that I'd run it this way I think..

Jrue/LWill
Turner/Meeks
Noc/Young
Brand/Young
Hawes/Favors

If we have a 3 that can stretch the floor, I don't see why we'd run Turner at the SF, I'd rather continue to play him there, maybe look to make another deal that gives us a big shooter so we can keep him where he has a size advanatage at SG.
Also, Hawes is only good for about 24 minutes unless he plays with his manhood, so Favors won't last more than 24 w/o fouling out, so I think that works.

I know this is weeks late, but did your guys "insider" poster sixers1967 (or something like that) ever comment on the rumor that the Blazers offered Przybilla and Batum for Iggy and were turned down? Did he hear if that was true or not?

Probably lost his "source" or something. He hasn't been posting but it shows that he has been on the site.

Exactly. We would then have trade Brand threads.

Except that if Iggy is traded Turner would see good minutes.

I just see Iggy with his bags packed an on its way outta here. ET and Iggy play the same position. Neither are SG's. This team needs a pure shooter/scorer at SG to go along with Jrue and Evan.

along with Thad and Noc who have been playing very well in the absence of Squiggy. This team is better off without him. Thad is a good scorer and ET is a better all around player then Iggy.

with marion out and caron's injury, anyone think dallas is a possible destination? butler's expiring is a nice start but the mavs don't really have young assets (especially not in positions of need).

They have Beaubois but they may not be willing to give him up. If they are, maybe a three-way? To the Kings for Thompson?
