I wouldn't be that concerned. When Navarro was out he stepped up his scoring, so he can do it when he needs to. He'll definitely need to develop a shot to keep the defence honest though.

Barça won 63-65 against Bilbao in a very difficult game.

Ricky 9pts (4-9 FG), 6reb, 2ast, 1stl, 0to in 28min

By the way... have you read that article saying that Rubio said he'll come if there is no lockout? Can we believe that?

Sadly, there will be a lockout. That means he'll get here in 2012 and if I remember correctly he'll get more than the Rookie salary by then?

I wait some news from Rubio some time after the King Cup, middle Feb, because both Barcelona and Minnesota will ask him a answer. If his american agent says him the lockout is posible, IMO he will play another year here. It's the logic choice.

But his salary in 2012 will be determinated for the new collective agrement, not for the current.

Good match today for him. 28:41 min, 0 fouls, 0 turnovers. A boy from MInnesota saved us.

Will his buyout be further reduced though? Because currently, I think he would still have to pay 500K of it since NBA teams can only pay 500K in a player buy out. I dont think that would make up for the lost salary if the lockout happens though

I talk about his scale salary after three years without sign after the draft. The buyout is written in his Barcelona contract, and the Minnesota (or any team) money is something accorded between NBA and FIBA.

We are all assuming there will be a lockout but nobody knows that at this point. There are a lot of things that can happen. We'll just have to wait and see. The NFL is going to be going through the same thing during their offseason so there might be some lessons learned from them. There is a lot of money to be lost on both sides in a lockout so there is no guarantee that, if there is a lockout, it will be an extended one. I think Rubio might have to make his decision before anyone knows about the lockout situation.

I think the real question at this point in time is, has Ricky's grandma taken any more of a liking to Minnesota than she did last year? If there's one thing the Rubio situation has taught us, it's how important the opinion of grandma is in Spain.

The NFL situation just makes a pending lockout even more stupid for the NBA. They have a chance to get casual sports fans to pay attention to their sport before the Super Bowl is over and it looks like odds are they'll squander it so Stern and the union can have a pissing contest. Brilliant.

I agree, which is why I'm not completely convinced a lockout is inevitable.

I realize that, wondering if anything may have happened to get it closer to this...

You'll have to take both or nothing.
