Looks like Hawks experience is going to win them the game.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

I'm telling you, It's one thing if you lose and you get decent shots...It's another thing if you lose because you get stupid turnovers, and don't even get a shot off. Too many stupid mistakes today. Defensive 3-seconds, goal-tending, etc. VDN has a lot of work to do.

Got a new slogan for the Clippers season.
Where giving away big leads happens...
Anyways, EJ didn't had it tonight and it killed us, because we don't run real plays and need him to take over in the 2nd half, if we want to win games.
Oh, and a 3rd scorer would be nice as well.

Johnson, Crawford, and Smith had huge second halves. We really faded away in the second half. I hope we fix this problem at some point in the season.

Very frustrating game. Baron starts of great then is the first to get subbed. He sat until like 4 mins to go in the 2nd quarter which is ridiculous. On a night where EJ was pretty much horrible BD should have been running the 2 man game with Blake instead.
I just don't understand why VDN is so rigid with his subs. Also, Foye was looking great in the first half. Then he didn't get back in...

From the highlights, don't see how we let this one slip away, EJ was off but we need someone to score when he can't, hes not always going to have great games... really liked Barons game but i don't understand VDN rotations.

I was about to go to bed this morning at 330, and saw I was just 2 hours from a Clipper tip off. I considered staying up to watch but decided against it. Glad I did.

Can VDN make reasonable explanation for all these blown away leads?

I love EJ but we need to get another superstar along side Blake. How about Kaman/EJ/Rasual for Melo/JR Smith?
EJs good but Melo is clutch. He demands double teams and he can score almost at will which should get rid off scoring droughts.

Why?
Shouldn't we first let him come back and see how he fits next to Blake?
The least thing that would do is to upgrade his trade value, showing that he's back and healthy.

No way, no how.
We're building this thing around Griffin & Gordon and Melo would most likely be only a one year rental, thanks to him probably being hell bend on joining the Knicks.
Also, at least EJ plays some defense, while Melo's only being known for matador defense.

Some consistency from the SF is a must. I would love a guy like S-Jax. A vet with a strong attitude and competitive spirit or possibly a younger guy like a Green for Kaman trade. Gomes has games where he just doesn't show up. Also VDN to stop his (Please Use More Appropriate Word) rotations.
Mind you, people forget the offense should pick up with Kaman back. You could make it so you always have atleast 2 of Baron, Gordon, Griffin, Kaman on at a time.

Re: Game 34: Los Angeles (10-23) VS Atlanta (21-14)
Of course I would only trade for Melo if he signs the extension.
With that said, I hope EJ figures things out. He's been struggling to get in the flow of the game and has a really high turnover rate. Teams are prepared for his drive so he needs to do a better job of being under control so he doesn't pick up cheap offensive fouls. That's what took him out of the game in the first quarter and he never recovered.
Also, I'm beginning to get annoyed with VDN's rotation. EJ picked up 2 fouls but he didn't start the 2nd quarter right away. Then, Baron and Foye played well too but he didn't stick with them.

How about "Rise...but only in the first half"
Seriously though, VDN's rotation is strange. When we make a good run he changes the lineup.
EJ also needs to work on his handles. He makes too many mistakes and turns the ball over in crucial moments. He needs to learn to pass out of his drives, too. There were many opportunities where he could've passed the ball to Blake, but he still throws up a bad shot or turns it over. He needs to improve here, or we're going to have to figure out a better scoring option at the end of games.

But you also know that Melo probably won't be satisfied with a trade to us.
He seems to be hellbend on becoming a Knick and might not even sign an extension with the Nets, if they trade for him.
He also just lost his sister and, to me, seems like he wants to be on the east coast to be closer to his family.
On top of it I also like to develop our own talent and building the team around Griffin and Gordon(who has been great this year) is the way we should go.
There's also some more talent with Aminu, Bledsoe and Jordan on our team and if we can add to that(or if guys like Kaman, Gomes, Foye and even Baron can become solid contributors) we could have a really nice team in the upcoming years.
BTW: Yes, Vinnies rotations are strange, but that's him and combined with his crappy "offensive sets" we're always relying on Griffin and Gordon to do all the work for us, as there are no real plays other then throwing it to Blake or giving it to EJ while the others are standing around.

That's another good slogan.
Maybe we should start a thread about this...

Like I said above, Vinnie's roations and "playcalling" are very strange and anything else but effective.
And EJ really needs to work on his ballhandling, if he wants to become one of the elite players of this league.
Though, we don't have anything else to close out games, as teams are keying in on Griffin(while his jumper isn't there yet and he does not have all too many post moves) and Gordon's the only guy that can drive and shoot it.
So for us to become a better team we need to either hope that Aminu turns into a solid #3 option, or we need to add scoring. Best case scenario for us would be a guy like Jamal Crawford who can play both guard spots(back them up) and score with the best of them.
