It's alot easier to look good on D when you've got ben uzoh and stephen graham (who?) trying to make plays vs Ty Lawson & JR Smith. The one thing that stuck out for me tonight was that we had a center on the floor for 48 mins, and everyone was defending their "primary position" outside of a handful of needed mins at PF for Beasley. Amazing how that can simplify things for players defensively.

yea the thing is there were guys open on the perimeter all day like usual, but nobody on their team can hit a 3. I guess thats the key of our defense is to face a team w/ no range beyond 17 feet

January has always been our month!

I didn't see the game, but noticed that Beasley had six turnovers. I think he has the talent to be a #1 player, but some nights he hasn't looked like his head was in the game, and he's even been benched in the fourth. How did he look tonight mentally?

Most of his TOs were caused by getting charges called on him, or trying to make the extra pass(TOs i can live with). The only stupid one was that half court violation thing. He looked fine mentally, he just played a bad game

I find it depressing that the wolves and gophers have the exact same defensive problem

Bingo. I honestly don't think we played much better than when we gave up 119 to Denver, outside of the better interior d. The Nets are just awful. Terrible lack of energy. Humphries (12-14) and Vagasic (23 pts on 9/16) showed up, no one else did (maybe that's because those 2 were guarded primarily by Love and Brewer).

Just awufl. Avery Johnson has lost that team, wonder how long he lasts as coach.
What in the world happened to Brook Lopez. He used to be one of the best young centers in the game. He looked absolutely awful tonight (got to give Darko Pek and Kosta some credit for that though).
I'm also not terribly impressed with Favors.

The good: 48 minutes of true centers and no small ball! Finally!
Telfair showing he's healthy enough to trade.
Love's 23 &10 even though Humprhies outrebounded him
Interior Defense came alive. Good games out of all 3 of our C's.
Darko 8/9
Webster deadly from long range.
Ridnour with a nice floor game, decent overall d and good job off the ball playing the passing lanes.

The bad:
28 mins of Brewer and 16 of Wes. Wes is the one guy Rambis gives no margin for error. He had a turnover on the break in the 1st quarter. and Rambis immediately pulled him. Brewer proceeded to turn it over on the break, then give up 4 bunnies to Vagasich (including a couple of ugly steal attempts that led to layups), and played the rest of the half.
Then Wes plays a solid 3rd quarter (nets get only 9 pts) and can't get back into the game until there's under a minute left.
6 turnovers for Beasley. After a run of 5 straight solid games of low turnovers and high efficiency, there was bound to be a letdown eventually. Hopefully Beas picks it back up.
Way too many fouls. Both on the bigs and the wings.
Gave up way too many offensive rebounds. Darko in particular needs to become a better rebounder, although it's pretty apparent he has absolutely no lift in his legs because of his thigh bruise.

I will tell you why Brewer played 29 mins and Wes played just 16:

1st Qtr - Wes shoots 1-2 (missed dunk) and turned it over - replaced by Brewer
2nd Qtr - Wes shoots 0-1 - replaced by Webster.
3rd Qtr - Wes shoots 1-4 FGs and 3-4 FTs - replaced by Brewer.
4th Qtr - Wes shoots 0-1 FGs.

Wes finished with 7 points on 2-8 shooting. Most were open jumpshots. Brewer came off the bench and played with energy, collected 2 steals and a block, took a charge and helped keep both Harris and Vujacic to a combined 1-4 FGs in the 4th Qtr.

Also, like younggunsmn mentioned, Mayo played 48 mins tonite. I see a trade coming, thats another reason why Brewer played more minutes.

Wolves win and so far 4 bad ass fights tonight (3 prelims and Guida vs. Gomi) at UFC 125. You watching it?

I watched the PPV. Good card tonight. Like you said, solid prelims, and I enjoyed every main card fight except for the Vera/Silva fight, since Vera looked like ****.

Stann looked really good against Leben, not too many guys can take him apart standing like that. And the title fight was great, even with the draw. I can't believe Edgar survived the 1st, but I actually thought he looked great after that and earned the last 4 rounds. Maynard was kind of a baby after the draw, but I'd definitely watch a rematch.

Man, I am let down by Vera. I am sure he will get cut now. He needs to work on his grapple/ground game. I hope he signs with Bellator and beats on some cans for 6 months.

Leben got WORKED. He's the only fighter I know of who you can knock out during a fight and he can still win. I swear he gets mini KOed about 3 times per fight but his brain just goes into zombie mode and his body keeps punching.

Loved the main even. Dana said there will be rematch. Petis gets screwed and he has to wait. Also supposedly, UFC 129 will be Couture vs. Machida. WTF!? I want to see Rampage vs. Thiago Silva.

Yeah, I don't get Couture-Machida. Machida gets screwed on that; it's a no-win situation. If he wins, it's against a 46 year old who is considering retirement, but if he loses, he'll have a LOOOONNG comeback road to get back to title contention (and Couture might be able to beat him). I thought he'd get a rematch against Rampage after getting robbed with the split-decision in their fight.

Pettis is unlucky, but it's hard to argue with a rematch when the title fight was so great and actually came out as a draw. I do want to see him against another good lightweight though, since I've never seen Pettis live. His highlights look impressive.

I really, really hope so. With so many trades happening over the last 2 years it feels weird that there hasn't been one so far.

I wouldn't doubt that it was "Ramon Sessions Girl" who now sits next to me, and talks about him every game.

Crunch also showed up in our section and she hugged him, for about 3 minutes until we yelled "LET HIM GO!"

She yells "LET'S GO WOLVEES" or "GO WOLVEES" In almost a painful way, so I'm not sure if you are hearing her or someone else.

I do know that last season when PeeDee and I got upgraded for two games (3rd and 5th rows) we clearly heard her yell "GO RAMON!"

I think a lot of people would be annoyed with her, but she is a spaz, I think it's hilarious.

I might be exaggerating a little , I didn't time it, but it was beyond the brink of uncomfortable. I think you may be on to something here.
