25th if out in the first round, then it changes based on how far we advance.

In the first I want a good OLB if one falls to us, or I want to take Carimi.

You have to think both Von Miller and Akeem Ayers will be gobbled up before 25. That leaves Justin Houston and Jeremy Beal as the only other rush linebackers worth taking in the 1st round IMO. Greg Jones could be a linebacker to look at.

I think in that position of the draft, OL might be the way to go. Guys like Carimi, Sherrod, Castonzo, Pouncey and Love should all be there.

Jon Baldwin or Michael Floyd could be there, I would be happy with either of them.

It would be a reach to take cornerbacks like Aaron Williams or Jimmy Smith.

Mikel LeShoure would be a solid option. Nothing else at RB intrigues me.

Just quickly browsed WalterFootball.com's mock and according to their projections we could go Carimi, Moffit, and Casey Matthews with our first three picks. We wouldn't get the OLB we covet but I would definitely be happy with those first 3 picks.

Just draft BPA among WR, offensive lineman, OLB, or CB.

I agree. All 3 could be considered homer picks but, Carimi and Moffitt are tight and have great chemistry so I'd be cool with them being the future left side of our line. Matthews doesn't wow you on tape but on bloodlines alone he'd be worth the gamble of a third round pick. I don't think Barnett will be back next year anyways so having more depth there would be A-ok with me.

I know its only one game, but Walden looked flat out nasty yesterday and if he can develop into a somewhat consistent pass rusher that might push OLB back on our list of positional needs.

Yeah, I'm all for taking a good OLB if one falls to us in the draft but even if one doesn't, worst case scenario is some sort of platoon of Walden, Zombo, and Jones. Hopefully we get a good OLB in the draft but I could live with that threesome if we had to.

No way Blackmon falls to us, if he does I would be ecstatic. And I have sobered up from the Casey Matthews koolaid... if his last name wasn't Matthews none of us would be interested in him in the 3rd/4th rounds. He has more similarities to Hawk than he does Clay.

agreed. I'm feeling OT most important than OLB, then G, CB, PKR, RB

I'd take Derek Sherrod over Carimi in a heartbeat. Of guys who might be there where we pick, I'd have a hard time passing on Sherrod.

As much as I love Justin Blackmon, this draft is potentially loaded with depth at WR. Taking a guy like UNC's Greg Little in the 3rd round sounds much more appealing to me.

I'm looking forward to watching Virginia Tech's Steven Friday tonight. He has good size and an interesting skill set, and Va Tech players always do special teams well. He could be a strong option for our 3rd round pick as an outside linebacker.

If we could walk away with Little and Friday, that is a good draft. I have had those two guys pegged as gems for awhile now. Little is a physical freak.

I am all about BPA.

But I would rank our needs:

1. Offensive Tackle.
Clifton is going to go down sometime and sometime soon. I'm comfortable with Bulaga being part of this offensive line for a long time, but I'm not sure if I'm comfortable with him being the long term solution at LT. Bulaga may pan out there, but I think he is destined to be a RT or a guard.

2. Outside Linebacker.
I like Zombo, Jones and this Walden guy looks like he has some talent. I think all of those guys are good back-ups at the position. But we need another pass rusher opposite Matthews... And if we get a real good one our defense could be dominant.

3. Cornerback
Woodson, like Clifton, isn't going to play like this forever. I think to prolong his career we should move him to safety. Shields has talent and Tramon is a legit starter... But we are going to need more depth for the future at this position.

4. Middle Linebacker
I hope we have Chillar, Hawk and Bishop all on the roster next year. I think that's a good mix. It would be nice to add some more young talent there, as I think Barnett is pretty much done. If Barnett demands to be the starter, I would send him packing and bring back Hawk.

5. Wide Receiver
Driver will be gone eventually. Jones and Nelson are both good players. It looks like Quarless and Finley will be able to go out wide. This isn't a huge need, but it would be great for Rodgers to have yet another target to replace Driver.

6. Offensive Guard/Center
I just don't like Colledge at all. :P Wells is kind of undersized and pretty mediocre. With Suh now in the division, beefing up the interior of our line is pretty important.

7. Running Back
I am of the opinions RBs don't really matter. But Brandon Jackson was pretty bad this year... He just doesn't run that hard. He's solid as a third down back, but he's not a guy you want to rely on as your every down guy. Starks looks like he has talent and Grant should be solid next year. I'm not overly concerned about this spot, but it'd be nice to get someone here... Especially if it was a speed guy who could double as a return specialist.

8. Quarterback
Would be nice for Flynn to be expendable so we could gather another pick. I don't think we should trade him this year unless we get a real nice deal... He is a good player if Rodgers does go down again.

I like our depth at safety going into next year, especially since Woodson can slide over. I think we are definitely set at TE and FB. Those are the positions I would completely avoid in the draft unless you really see someone great available. I also think our K and P situation is taken care of.

I like the position our defensive line is in as well. We have a ton of talent there. Even if we lose Jenkins I think we'll be alright.

Great breakdown. I am warming up to the idea of going with a LT in Round 1, and if we cant find an OLB in the draft, platooning Jones/Zombo/Walden.

I pretty much agree with everything you said, Newz, although I'd rank RB a bit greater of a need, especially if we can get someone who projects as a difference maker. I'd like to bring in a burner at RB...

Yeah. Most people value RB pretty high. I think it's the easier position in the league to fill, personally. I honestly think it may be an easier position than K and P to fill with a decent player.

I personally think it's a position that you can get good players in later rounds, in cheap trades, undrafted, etc.

I think our running game would be better if we used our RBs more wisely. Jackson should never have the ball on first or second down. Starks, Nance and Kuhn should be the only guys getting the ball until third down. Jackson should also never be in in the red zone.
