Is VC overweight?

Post#1 » by Juan Montoya » Mon Jan 3, 2011 1:20 pm

Watching the PHX:SAC game tonight I couldnt help but notice how bloated VC looks compared to his Nets and Raptor days. I dont know when he decided to change his training and diet program to get more body mass but it didnt help his game. He traded agility and speed for strength and mass. But is it his game? Should he go back to beeing the more thinnier guy.

VC is in the best shape this year than he has been in the past few years. Obviously you can't compare his body now to when he was 22 or so. That's just unfair. Go look at VC in person and you tell me he's outta shape, remember the TV adds a few extra pounds, too.

LOL @ BurningHeart. Old, yes. Lazy, not hardly. I guess some Suns fans will start blaming these losses on VC, when he's averaging 19ppg and refuse to look at Frye jacking up contested 3s and not getting the ball to who should have it late in games Nash/VC.

The funny thing about Vince is it is that it is always everybody elses fault.

He didn't want it late in the game. Watch the tape.

VC always doesn't want it. That's the positive thing about him but also a negative, that's why Kobe became Kobe and Vince became Vince.

When I was watching VC in Magic uniform I always thought his weight is one of the reasons why he lost his dynamism and explosiveness. I'm happy to see somebody sharing my point. You can watch the evolution of his game and his body here: http://www.youtube.com/user/vc15encyclopedia

For me it looks like he began gaining pounds between the 06 and 07 seasons, when he was about to turn 30. Personally after the trade I was hoping the Suns medical staff will help him lose some weight.

Really? It wasn't the fact that Pietrus and Frye were jacking up contested shots and teams were running an extra defender at VC on the last second shot? You want VC to have the ball, give him an ISO situation and watch what happens.

He is overweight, it's obvius. He has now Paul Pierce`s type of body, but Pierce had it since 10 years ago. He is slow for a guard, he only can play 3 banging in the interior.
I love Vince, but the truth is the truth.

Vince is in the best shape since he played for the Nets.

Yeah...but he's a 3 and a half month rental and might even be traded before than so it doesn't really make a difference...

Yes, he decreased his bodyfat by 4% and increased his vertical leap by 2-3 inches last summer, yet he's "lazy". GTFO troll.

You again with the stupid lies. Who said anything was anyone else's fault? Don't ignore the question or change the subject either. Give me a link showing someone else getting the blame. I think you're lying.

There was one person in this topic who deflected the blame to Frye

I've never once seen Vince refuse to shoot shots in the clutch, so I think you're lying. Even last night he took two shots in the final minutes. Check the play-by-play if you don't believe me.

Watch this video, and tell me he shies away in the clutch. Because whoever told you that is a lying idiot:

So because one person did it once that means it is "always everybody elses fault".

And how does Frye not share the blame? He was even worse.

He is not a future hall of famer who is getting paid 17 million this season.

a. It's "paid". Learn to spell.

b. I don't care if he's a 12th man getting paid the league minimum. He played like garbage and deserves some of the blame. You win as a team, you lose as a team. Vince was one of the better players last night. Several others were worse yet idiots will tell you they shouldn't share the blame.

Sounds to me like you're the one deflecting the blame from Frye, like it's always everybody else's fault, and Frye should never share the blame no matter how crap he plays. See your hypocrisy?

Of course I'm not surprised you can't spell. You already showed me that you don't even understand the definition of the word "semantics" in another thread when you suggested that the difference between 0.5 PPG and 5.0 PPG is "semantics"

So you can't spell, and you lack reading comprehension. That is proof that nobody should take you seriously.

It's funny I always thought you win or lose with your best players. But I guess Vince Carter gets a pass using this definition anyway so whatever.
