Anybody who thinks Lowkey is in the same universe as Eminem, Royce, Nas, Black Thought etc. is a crackhead.

Lowkey is good, but Lupe Fiasco and J. Cole are above and beyond anything he has to offer.
I'm not even going to name countless others who, although past their primes, are still better than what Lowkey is today.
i agree...lupe and cole r very similar to me in terms of their topics..besides them i like kid cudi and wiz khalifa...j cole is the best lyricist/rapper out right now though, hands down...

All those dudes are past their prime and not even close to what they once were. They once were good but nowadays they are only a shell of themselves
Dudes voice is mad annoying and cant rap. I would never put that on my ipod, i don care how "good" his raps are. I know 5 people personaly i would rather listen. I dont have much of an opinion i guess since i only played the song for about 15 seconds, but thats all the time i needed.

Although Im 25 I agree with this. To even put J. Cole in the same post as Lupe is disrespectful.

Re: The Official Rap/Hip Hop Thread
I dont get it. What do nigguhs see in Lupe. He has never wowed me ever. He lyrics are so textbook. The fefew songs I liked from him was on the Cool. When he dropped like 4 tracks on hotnewhiphop they were all gawbage and Show Goes On was wack too. J Cole is just more likeable to me. He talks about shyt that you can relate too like Kanye. Like for example Cost Me A Lot. We all have been played someway somehow but if we got or were to get some money shyt changes around you. People wanna be on your meat and him talking about it made the song. Plus he is one of the few new MCs that don't freestyle with a device in his hand(*cough* Drake, Wiz). J COle isn't overrated he is rated just fine. I won'r say he's better than Lupe YET but if he puts out two strong albums that can attract the general public then I say hes there.

I agree that Cole is a bit overrated. He's aight but he's kinda bland. Honestly there aren't' many rappers with great lyrics today. So you have to look at people with presence and charisma as long as the lyrics aren't offensive to your senses. I'll take someone like Yelawolf over J Cole easy because he's different from most, has his own style, own personality, he just stands out and can flow with the best of them.
As far as best rapper out today, in doses I think TI can take that crown but that's when hes feeling it.
I like Eminem but he's doing the same verse on every song now.
I think Joe Budden is up there as far as best rappers today. Don't like Wiz Khalifa much also overrated. Lupe is good but people overrate his lyrics and he doesn't have great delivery IMO.

Yelawolf is somewhat different then again he's not he sounds like...Lil Boosie with less fried brain cells or Cee-Lo with more fired brain cells. He's alright though. Too much affiliation is influencing and swaying people. And no one crediting guys for rapping with lyricism otherwise album sales would reflect this.

Sorry but I gave up listening to guys who talk about their money, b*tches, cars, poppin pills, drinkin away their life, sellin crack and their jewelry collection. I heard it all, now I listen to stuff that really matters and only old school Nas was actually consistent in delivering the type of material Im interested in nowadays

Get caught up in life homie. Most of the crap you listen to nowadays is fabricated by the people in control. Even Eminem was fabricated, he wasnt real when he came out, he was a gimmick, he was Dr. Dre's puppet. Real Hip Hop is something that isnt fabricated or controlled.
Lil Wayne, Rick Ross (who is a member of the CIA and used as a spy), Gucci, Drake, 50 Cent, Eminem, etc.
they are all fabricated
Do some more research then come back to me with some knowledge homie

Haha what the hell? I understand that hip hop is a business and take Eminem for example. When Eminem came out sure he was marketed a certain way to SELL but to say that he's fabricated and his lyrics didn't mean anything is silly. He sold a lot on real themes.

Re: The Official Rap/Hip Hop Thread
Not really sure how someone can classify one type of hip-hop as "real" and the other one "fake." The rapper's background doesn't mean that he doesn't rap well...Rick Ross is one of the most fake rappers out there, but he still makes pretty good music. Why do people make such a big deal about the person's background? The only thing I can understand people not liking about a rapper is if he doesn't write his own lyrics...but then again, if the music is good, that's all I care about.
On Lowkey --> not a fan...
On Lowkey --> not a fan...

Ofcourse, I will always give Eminem props for some of the real shyt he put out, no doubt about it. In the middle of it all, he still managed to come through with songs like White America and Toy Soldiers and stuff like that which I will never ever try to take away from him.
