Sources: Sterger attorneys say she's thinking seriously about talking to President Obama (if Brett won't pay).

i don't know if he's being serious but LOL if that's true. Sterger is a straight up gold digger.

I don't think Obama is going to give a ****, because he has more important things to do. But how the **** is Sterger a gold digger?

A. She hasn't sued him yet
B. Didn't bring this up right away and encouraged other victims of his harassment to keep quiet to save their own jobs.
C. Generally stayed out of the limelight throughout this whole ordeal and didn't really profit off it even though she could have, easily, with interviews, selling her info to deadspin, etc.
D. DID NOT BLACKMAIL HIM...rumor has it that he tried to buy her off to keep her quiet and she refused to take it.

I mean, come on man. I don't really care about Sterger, but I think that it's ridiculous how many people are bashing her when she didn't do anything wrong...and was in a completely no-win situation throughout this whole process.

I also don't understand the bashing of Sterger. Beyond what you listed, she wasn't even the one to originally leak the information about this, right? If all she wanted was money, this would have played out much differently.

And that matters...why exactly? There are multiple possible reasons why she didn't mention this, including the fact that defaming the almighty Favre could possibly ruin her career. The reaction of the league should make the obvious...she's sexually harassed for a year and Favre gets a slap on the wrist. It's still a good ol' boys league.

Favre is currently hurt, the Vikings only have one game left, and Brett won't be trying to play next year, so why care that he wasn't suspended by the NFL when a suspension wouldn't effect him anyways?

I don't know. I guess my main thing is why even fine him at all if you're going to fine him what he would make in three minutes of one game? If you suspend him without pay for even a game it's basically a $1 million fine which is much more in line with what his punishment should have been than what he actually got.

Because the investigation finished in about week 6. They punished him in week 17.

They dragged it on with more bull for a while but the verdict could have been reached a few weeks after it started. They kept saying "a decision is coming soon." OK, that makes sense if you're still gathering evidence and going, "OK, exhibit A says this, exhibit B says this." That wasn't the case here. They couldn't get permission or foolproof evidence that he sent his dong. Brett didn't play along with the process. If he was really obstructing the process, they could have figured that out about 2 weeks into it.

From the comments on the deadspin article..

Shouldn't have waited until after the hit by Wootton to interview Favre.

"Brett, we want to talk about these text messages received by Jenn Sterger in 2008."

"Isn't 2008 next year? Are we in a time machine? I got a time machine back on the farm. Genuine John Deere - not that Case or New Holland crap."

"Brett, now, you already admitted to talking with Ms. Sterger. But, did you send her photos of your genitalia?"

"I don't remember a Ms. Sterger. But, I did send out some photos of my memorabilia. Just this week. Only $500 a ball - I thought that was damn near a gift. Hell, I hated to miss that game in, uh...well...wherever the hell it was.

Oh, and I did send Steve Bartkowski a copy of my butt once, from the copier in Flowery Branch."

"Mr. Goodell, I think we may need to postpone this interview until after Brett has more time to recover from his concussion."

"I agree, Bus. Brett, you're free to go. Bus, tell Ray Anderson to step into my office on your way out - we've really got to get a handle on this concussion problem."

You missed my favorite one...

"Wow, that's smaller than I expected."

- Brett Favre, December 2010
- America, October 2010
- Jenn Sterger, 2008
- Deanna Favre, 1988

Hey, i'm no Brett Favre fanboy like somehow still exists among a small segment of socalled Packer fans. That said, even if Goodell did drag his feet on purpose to avoid having to suspend Brett, it's simply hard for me to be all angry about it when Brett continuing to play for Minnesota did nothing except make the Vikings worse on the field and in the locker room.

If instead Favre had been playing great this year and the Vikings were potentially going to knock the Packers out of the chance to make the playoffs, then i'd be irritated that the actions of Goodell negatively impacted the Packers. That isn't the case though, so whether Favre only got a 50,000 dollar fine vs say a one-two game suspension which would have cost Brett more cash isn't something i really give a crap about. Favre was already filthy rich and would still be even more filthy rich regardless if he "only" made 18 or 19 million this year because of a suspension instead of the 20 million he will end up making.

Plus, it's not like Favre really got away with this deal with Sterger, regardless if he never got suspended by the NFL.

He became the butt of a million jokes

His far from huge pecker was exposed for all to see

SNL did a hilarious skit about him

His legacy was further damaged big time

His not cooperating helped drag this out and keep the story in the media longer

His kids likely were hurt by this and being a father of a daughter myself, that in turn would bother me a lot that i was the cause of them being hurt by my silly actions, much more than any football suspension would.

I'm sure Deanna was thrilled as this story came out. Made even worse that it came out during the time she was scheduled to go promote her book about surviving cancer.

Brett may have not been suspended by the NFL, but it sure seems to me that he paid a plenty hefty price for doing what he did.

He definitely paid the price in losing some of his image, but that doesn't mean that he didn't deserve more punishment for what he did. And while I realize that one or two or hell, ten million wouldn't have really effected his long term financial sustainability, a severe punishment would have sent the message that the NFL doesn't play favorites, and that all players should be punished severely for their actions equally. By your logic, it wouldn't have mattered much if Roethlisberger was suspended at all because it wouldn't have made much of a long-term difference in his actions, and because he already received a beating by the media, the Steelers organization, and fans. If Favre was guilty, and by all appearances (except oddly, the NFLs), he was, then he should have been punished in the same way Roethlisberger was.

He's retired now and I believe it this time so I'm completely over the drama. Can't wait till he rejoins the Packer family.

Court documents allege Favre sent messages reading, “Brett here, you and Crissy want to get together, I’m all alone” and “Kinda lonely tonight, I guess I have bad intentions.”
