Guys we may be targeting?

Demar DeRozan? Ed Davis?

I can't imagine that the Raptors would want to deal DeRozan or Davis right now, but who knows

DeRozan has been disappointing for the Raptors this season aside from his 37 point outburst and the game that followed, so maybe his value has increased as of late. He can't shoot, create, dribble or pass <---according to what i've read on the Raptors board, but fans aren't the best talent evaluators.(This was earlier in the season, don't really know what they think of him now)

I can't really see us going after anybody on their roster..

Maybe we were looking at Chicago for a Brewer for ____ trade? Maybe Kahn used the raptors as a smokescreen and the writer inhaled that?

Hmmm

Maybe they only deal Derozan if we take on Calderon or Peja? Not sure though, I'd say his value in TOR is our value on Beas, Rubio, Love.

I don't see him leaving anytime soon. Ed Davis or Sonny Weems is more realistic.

Thought about Weems as well.

Does Kahn normally go scouting? I'm curious because why would he of all people go scout the raptors who you play 25 days from now.

As for trades. Doubt and by doubt I mean highly doubt Derozan or Davis are involved. I don't think you guys want people like Klezia, Barbosa, Calderon. Weems didn't play today because he's hurt so it isn't him. I mean why would he come to watch injured players sit on the bench (Calderon & Weems) so I think you can rule them out. Someone who did play today and played a lot I might add Is Bayless. He was hobbled with an ankle injury but they kept him in. Now that could be because of Kahn being there or because Calderon was hurt.

Toronto has been rumored to be interested in Flynn. Maybe Bayless + something for Flynn which would be the only thing I see between us. Maybe Kahn thinks Bayless would be nice beside Rubio? He had a good game today too on one ankle.

11,8 and 3 but he was playing on literally one leg. He was almost in tears at some point it seemed like. Or maybe a small deal like Wright for Telfair because of Calderon and Bayless being hurt. I think either

1) Bayless + for Flynn
2) Barbosa for expirings
3) Wright for Telfair

Other than that and the Barbosa one I don't see because your a younger team. Other than that I don't see much else.

What's your opinion on this? Is it routine for Kahn to come?

I don't believe so.

As for your trades, I'm slightly intrigued by Bayless. He seems like he may fit the mold of what we wanted Flynn to become. At 6'3" hes a bigger PG too, which I like.

How about ....

Flynn to Toronto

Miami 1st + Utah 1st to New York

Bayless + Randolph to Minnesota

One other note on Bayless. His 1-for-1 trade restriction expires on the 20th. The two teams don't play until the 29th. Flynn for Bayless does not work straight up.

!. No. Bayless really doesn't fit well here. Rambis wants big 2-guards, and Flynn is more of a pure point with an extra year on his rookie deal
2. Not any interest in Barbosa for the same reason (plus the contract)
3. Not any interest in Wright or minutes for him.

I think if Kahn did a deal with Toronto it would either be trying to get a top-10 protected 1st for Flynn (which is hard to see at this point) or moving Ellington and/or Hayward's small guaranteed 2011 deals off the books to manuever for a little extra cap room and open roster spots next summer.
Could also involve trying to get something for Brewer, like the MIA pick or a 2nd rounder along with an expiring (not that he is worth the MIA pick).

The Bulls are rumored to be looking for a wing and a C, and Brewer makes sense, but a salary match is hard to come up with.
Brewer for James Johnson/Bogans is the best I could come up with.
I don't know how much Kahn likes Johnson, maybe he thinks he can be another backup 3/4.
I don't know if he is worth his 1.8 million 2011 salary at this point with all the DNP-CD's he's collected.

Chicago has that Bobcats pick that is enticing, but I don't see us offering enough for it without breaking up the core we have assembled.

He is from the 2008 draft class too, so thats another big indicator. I am also intrigued by a Bayless-Flynn swap. I think i might do it

How's his defense?

Doesnt look like that that can happen until Jan 20th for some reason. Some goofy trade/claim restriction

We have cap space and they have a monster trade exception, why wouldn't it work?

Read above for explanation. 1 for 1 deals are allowed before then, but thats it

Many ways around that. We have a TE which Flynn could be absorbed into and your under the cap to absorb bayless. Or Wright for Flynn then Bayless for Telfair in 2 seperate deals

Bayless + mia 1st is a lot for Flynn that hasn't proved much more than Bayless has. He's only a year younger too. So don't know if I do that without something else coming to Toronto. I think Bayless would be a better fit beside Rubio than Flynn

we give you cash? I dont think Miami's first is going to be worth all that much in this weak draft class. I think most GMs would rather have a low second

One of our better defenders. Probably the best outside of Weems. Can do everything and plays off the ball quite well. Barbosa likes to handle it and Bayless does a good job at shooting the 3 and driving to the bucket. Gets his teammates involved and rides the hot hand. You'll see him go back to people if they just scored. Example Bargnani.

It can happen now in 2 deals or through our TE. We wouldn't do Bayless + mia 1st for Flynn though. Straight up I'd do it but I'm the only one probably. If you asked other raptor fans they wouldn't. I think Flynn/Derozan is a nice back court though.

How's flynns defense and playmaking? Another thing to add is the raptor brass is high on Flynn he was our top choice on draft day.
