Eric Gordon

Post#1 » by Starkiller » Wed Jan 5, 2011 1:45 pm

If he were to become available, would you want him? It'd be a nasty 3 headed scoring monster w/ Granger & Hibbert. I just don't like Rush as our starting SG, rather as a great 6th man to come off the bench, Gordon is no slouch on D either. If we can aquire Gordon will still having enough room to get our starting PF, would you guys want to?

How much would we be willing to part with to land him? Rush? Lance? George? Picks? I honestly thing anything outside of Danny/DC/Roy/Paul is expendable to land Gordon.

Personally, anyone but DG, RH and DC. Picks, sure, foreign players, sure.

He is a hell of a player, kinda small for a SG but great player. Not to mention hometown guy, put players in the seats

I think we could use another scorer, and we defiantly need a PF.
If we get one like West or Zach R. That puts up good numbers then Rush is a nice fit at the 2.
If we get a 4 that's mostly a defender and rebounder - then scoring from another place would be great and Gordon would be ok.

Glad you posted that, that's another benefit he could bring to the team. Hometown guy, went to IU, could bring more fans in if they know he's here. Personally, if we can say sign a Jeff Green, and make the deal for EJ w/ a Starting 5 of...

PG: DC
SG: EJ
SF: Danny
PF: Jeff Green
C: Roy Hibbert

with Rush and George as our 6th and 7th man we'd have a nasty starting 5. Scoring from everywhere on the court.

That would be a great team! Who would we get as a coach?

I would go Granger for Gordon straight up and have no second thoughts.

I would also do Hibbert/Collison for Gordon. I realize I am probably higher on Gordon that most, but to get something in this league you have to give something and I would be willing to pay the price.

Granger for Gordon straight up? To bad saleries dont even match!

Dont get me wrong, Ive been a Gordon fan since he was at North Central but Danny has done way more than Gordon has done to this point.

Just because salaries don't match up does not mean a trade can't happen. I figured someone here would know that.

And good grief, you guys really want to talk about acquiring Eric Gordon without giving up Granger, Collison or Hibbert? Good one. James Posey, TJ Ford and a 2013 2nd round pick for Eric Gordon. Yeah, I am sure LA would trip over themselves trying to get that done.

Be realistic, please. If we are going to land Gordon (which we probably can't) get ready to say goodbye to Hibbert or Granger.

Given Clippers management...we could pull off something that includes George, picks, and expirings for crappy contract.

I realize Clippers management is cheap and bad, but wow, if they agreed to that it would put them on a whole other level.

That being said, I am definitely not so high on Gordon. He's kind of outside the realm of possibility right now, and getting him would mean breaking apart the 3-year plan we've had for a prolific combo guard.

If he pans out like he's supposed to, I wouldn't be afraid to have Paul at SF and have to ship Danny for EJ. EJ is just a better player. I think the only way we land EJ from LA is if they know he won't resign and want to get at least something for him, and then maybe our capspace can come into effect and a young wing (Rush, Lance, Paul) with a pick or something, while taking one of their bad deals.

You're right it won't happen. That's as dumb as when people over the offseason were saying the only way they would trade Granger for Derrick Rose was for the Bulls to include Joakim Noah.

Even worse this was before we had Darren Collison. :o

So you're not offering Collison, Granger, Hibbert, Rush, or George for Eric Gordon......what the heck do you expect the Clippers to take for him? Hansbrough and picks? Not even close, even if the Clippers didn't ALREADY have Blake Griffin. Really? What are you offering? Because it's going to take one of the guys we like to get a guy like Gordon.
