Re: Off Topic II
Could you imagine the fall out if one of the Hall Of Fame Hack's players fired back at him with: " if you want to coach me, coach me. Just stop embarrassing me in public". Or: "We've had days off and blown teams out, so I'm not buying any of that play the right way bulls**t"?
That player would be lucky to ever see the court again and you could bet your bottom dollar the Hall Of Fame Hack would be in which ever one of the third of the leagues teams he has coached so far's GM's office demanding that player be traded.
The Hall Of Fame Hack's ego couldn't stand it. That's the difference. Guys like Coach Jackson put the team before their own agenda.

Sorry...I forgot you've only been watching the NBA for 5 years. At least you have something in common with Clunk.

Re: Off Topic II
random stat... i was thinking the warriors have been pretty good this year when all three of ellis, curry and lee have played. they have only all 3 played in 18 of their 35 games. the warriors are 10-8 in those games (which includes their win over us last week).

wow. thats a real kick in the nuts. glad i didnt get excited before his decision. typical charlotte sports bad luck. this city will never have a true sports superstar. kinda sad. now we will be stuck with overpaying for a defensive tackle. yay.

Bowers is a good looking Peppers replacement on the end. Fairley is okay but there are questions about his "motor" so I'm ehh on him.
Here's to hoping we trade the #1 down to 3/4/5 for AJ Green and a second rounder...

Re: Off Topic II
I FOUND it.
Have you considered that maybe the bobcats are just really bad?
You need to get that tanking a season on purpose is just not something teams do. This isn't a video game, the staff doesn't just decide "hey lets go for a lottery pick seeing as we can't win." Players are not willing to just lose on purpose, i have never met a single basketball player in my life who would be willing to go out there and play poorly on purpose, just so a team would have a chance at drafting a player that might help turn things around. I've never met a player who would play poorly or lose on purpose even if he got paid to do it.
And even not necessarily losing on purpose, but not doing anything to improve the team with the intention of letting the poor team you have fail. Players don't stick around if you don't work to make them winners. Thats why chris paul almost left new orleans, why bosh left toronto, Kg from minnesota, and allen from seattle.
And its not just the players, Owners don't do that. You don't just get a bunch of L's on your schedule for tanking a season. You lose incredible amounts of money, you have an empty stadium with no tickets/concession/memorabilia sales, and you lose fan support that may never come back. Especially in a situation where you're an expansion team, you just can't afford to lose any more fans, let alone risk being moved somewhere else with 0 established fans.
No owner, let alone michael freaking jordan, would be willing to hemorrhage their own money for an entire season just so they can get a top 5 pick that may turn out to be hasheem thabeet or Andrea Bargnani rather than blake griffin or derrick rose.
You just can't do that, even if you tried most players would react by, oh hey, going on strike. They are a union after all. If you say to a professional competitor, with the ego of an athletic star, "we're going to lose on purpose" he'll say "Maybe you are, i'm getting the hell out of here." And they'd get traded.
I can't believe you're even entertaing the idea that they would do that, that just for a pick the owner would be willing to lose millions of dollars, the coach and players would be willing to lose on purpose, and the organization as a whole would do that to their fans, just so they have a chance at maybe getting a player who will help to turn things around.
And even if you do go and draft the next blake griffin, a player who plays out of his mind like a veteran all star, so what. It sure as hell hasn't made the clippers a winning team, or the nets with derrick favours, of philly with evan turner, sacremento with tyreke evans and cousins, golden state with steph curry. Minnesota has been a lottery team for 4 drafts in a row, and what do they have to show for it? "Oh, we might be good next year if wes johnson, kevin love, corey brewer, johnny flynn and beasley keep improving." Maybe they'll get lucky and draft the rookie of the year, but that won't mean anything unless they build a real team for him to play with like OKC or Chicago. And then they need a real coach and a playoff team mentality or they'll just be atlanta.
If anything building through the draft even unintentionally is a LONGER way to build a team than just making some trades, signing some players, and improving your management.

Denver about to suffer back to back losses to 2 of THE worst teams in the league....not a good look.
That team is going to implode.....Cousins reminds me of a poor mans Andrew Bynum.

Re: Off Topic II
Melo IS NOT on the same page as his teammates. Thought one sh*t shot with 2 defenders in his face wasn't enough, so he threw up another one with 4 defenders in his face. Reminds me of Patch. If you're double teamed a player will be open.
