Didn't know Jennings was a dunker... :-? And I'd rather see Nick Young in there... Oh well...

5 bucks Wall's there lobbying it to him.

It's to bad they don't assign like 4 dunkers and one guy to get dunked on. Gallinari comes to mind. He has to try to stop them all or else be posterized.

I think it would be more interesting if the defender was a guy like Artest who isn't afraid to deliver a hard foul or a cheap shot.

Gallinari in round one, Artest in round two. I like it.

weird casting. 3 big men and a 6 foot guard. terrible casting even. i understand 1 big guy, just to see how high he can get, but 3? call me old fashioned but i like my dunk contests full of 6'5-6-8 swingmen who can get 40 inches of air. any shorter and they can't do anything truly spectacular. any taller and it just looks too easy. i mean, do you really think serge ibaka is a better dunker than nick young? or demarr derozen? i bet chase budinger would put on more of a show. i say give rudy F another shot at it. that off-the-back-side-of-the-backboard was INSANE.

Brandon Jennings... is that a misprint? Coming off a broken hoof? Great decision NBA. Shouldnt it be Nate there defending his title... he was the last winner right? Last year was dreadful.

And yeah, Rudy deserves another shot, as does Igoudala even more so, he was robbed blind that year.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

I think the NBA with the dunk contest is looking for players who are potential(in Griffin's case you could argue current) all stars rather than strictly the best dunkers. I think they may feel guys like Harold Miner and Shannon Brown who can dunk but aren't anything special as basketball players aren't the best for the dunk contest.

I agree from a strictly best dunks possible point of view. Maybe Derozen will put it together, but the NBA star potential of the group you mention is a lot lower than the guys they picked.

They should break the dunk contest up into groups.

Do it by positions.

I want to see D Howard going against players like McGee.

That would make it more interesting to me.

For a guy that is supposedly such a good dunker, Nick Young doesn't have that many spectacular dunks. The only ones I remember are the one on LeBron in Nick's rookie year and the one a few weeks ago when he crossed up Kwame. Other than that, his dunks are kind snoozeworthy.

As long as Nate Robinson is NOT in it, I'm good with it! :)

I actually thought McGee may be in it. The funny thing is that no one in the NBA ever wants to participate but NY has volunteered every year and never gets a call, probably because he isnt good enough. Now though he's starting and putting up big numbers. Just invite 5 guys and let NY get in.

I will say this though, this is by far the best group theyve had in years. We all know what Javale & Blake can do but for those who dont know, Jennings gets up for a lil dude and Ibaka has springs in his legs. Should be good comp

Most of me will root for McGee to win, natch.

But a small part of me will not like the fact that he'll once again get some shine for the "wrong" reasons (athleticism, dunking), instead of for the right reasons (rebounding, weak-side defense). I know that part of me is being a bit of a wet blanket, but I'm not sure how well he does with that kind of notoriety. One nice dunk in front of Obama, and that guy's been saluting and trying to dunk from the three point line ever since.

Ah, well. The greater part of me will still be pulling for him, of course. :)
Always remember, my friend: the world will change again. And you may have to come back through everywhere you've been.

At least this makes his dunk rating go up in future NBA 2k games. :D

I'll be surprised if Javale manages not to embarrass himself.

Why?

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.
