Knicks fan here, Phoenix nation STAND UP for Amar'e!

Post#1 » by JD21 » Thu Jan 6, 2011 8:37 pm

hey guys, Amar'e has been more than anyone in NY thought he would be. From his unreal work ethic to his leadership to his improved one on one gm and production on the court with a different supporting cast to his amazing work off the court for kids!

Knicks haven't had a starter since 1992 (Ewing) and it's Amar'e's first year with the Knicks. All Star gm is in LA Staples Center and TNT crew will be televising the Heat Knicks gm and announce the starters. hes behind by 24,000 right now to KG. KG has a deal with a chinese brand so he gets alot of global votes. But Amar'e is more deserving and better! KG is also hurt for 3 weeks!

Amar'e has appreciated all of you guy's support and even in NY with the energy he has here, i will tell you he hasn't forgotten who has evolved him, Phoenix! A Knick beatwriter asked him about with the energy and love he's getting from the City would he had wished he was a Knick a long time ago. He quickly rejected it and said NO Phoenix was a GREAT 7 years! And you guys have supported him and voted for him as a starter before. We Knick fans ask for your support for Amar'e Stoudemire!
Vote Amar'e!

Not sure anyones going to be cheering for him/voting for him now...

He has a right to be over here, hes not hating and is being polite about it. As for giving him a standing ovation? I dont think so. He bailed on a team that was so close, just a player or two away from competing with the best teams out there like last post-season making it to the western finals and giving LA a run for their money. He also was a pretty terrible person throughout the city of PHX racking up huge tabs everywhere, and either walking out on them, or not tipping whatsoever. No way this guy is gonna get a standing ovation.

Was going to do that until I've read this.

I'm certainly not going to boo him now, you know with the newspaper thing he did, but I won't be giving him a standing ovation for displaying such a huge ego. I guess that's what happens when you're big time and you're playing in NY AND kinda resurrected basketball in NY.

But then it's not like I'm going to be at the game anyways. (I live in Cali so....)

Btw I voted for him because he was less boring compared to KG and Chris Bosh, and less of a prick compared to Lebron. It's more of a vote out of "no good players, so I'm gonna vote for the least bad ones".

Ill cheer for Amare, I dont hate him as a player. I think he is having an awsome year so far, and wish him the best, as long as it isnt against the Suns. We didnt not sign Amare cause we disliked him, we didnt sign him because the knicks offered him garenteed money on an uninsureble contract that the Suns couldnt offer. We couldnt take the risk of crippiling our franchise if he got hurt, while the Knicks could, they are somewhat comfortable with carrying high priced players on thier roster who dont even play for years past... I.E..... Steve Francis..... Marbury...... Curry.... We cant do that here. Amare deserves a standing ovation at the start of the game, NO DOUBT!!! He did so much for this franchise, it cant be measured, but by tip off time... I hope he sucks untill the game is over. Then ill wish him the best for the knicks next game.

Yea i didn't mean a standing O. With the topic description i meant like in terms of all star voting! And as far as him leaving. Theres 3 situations

1- Suns offered a less guaranteed contract
2- Knicks had offered a full 5 -year no insurance covered guaranteed contract plus the NY sell and becoming a bigger figure and gaining more national respect coming to NY. Look now he's viewed as MVP candidate, in Phoenix he would have NEVER gotten that attention!
3- you got to look at it from his perspective as well, the dude had to get a good deal you cant blame him he could have QUIT on you guys and gained weight and just collected money when he got all those surgeries, but you look at Allan Houston Chris Webber Kenyon Martin guys who have had that injury and look at what it has done to them, Greg Oden, and Amar'e bust his behind and gave Phoenix all he had! You can say Artest doesn't make that shot who knows what happens, Spurs series with that debacle who knows what happens! But Amar'e made poster dunk after poster dunk and gave Phoenix nation swag and excitement! He knows this is his last huge contract so you cant blame him! VOTE AMAR'E!!! PLEASE SUPPORT AND GET HIM IN AS A STARTER IN THE EAST!

Yeah I read what MVF posted earlier today and was kinda pissed Amare would say that. Right now, we all hate that Amare is playing to his full potential because he is that good, and we are struggling, but when he is out for the season again, we won't feel as bad.
I was going to say Amare should be listed as center but that spot is reserved for Dwight. Amare definitely deserves to start, and I hope he gets it.

Sorry Knicks fan but Amare always was weak at defense and always had a huge ego and in fact he is the main reason we never won anything here if you think he deserves All star status simply because he changed teams but pretty much hasn't done anything different than he did here last season which means in the post season he will let you down then you have decided to ignore Amare's entire career with the Suns and have decided that you will act like the Knicks are the first team he has played for which would be ridiculous Amare has not earned an All star spot on the East roster because he hasn't improved on his performance from last season . So get off this SUNS board Knick fan with you vote for Amare for the East Allstar team because he has not earned it and once the new smell wears off the Knicks will look foolish for signing him to another contract another Micro-fracture surgery looms for Amare and once he has it he will be even less of a player than he is now and that is a fact.

If Amare needs MF again some time during his contract, we'll look like geniuses.
If he doesn't, it'll be looked at as a move that brought a proud-franchise to its knees.

The anticipation is exciting!

It'll have to be a top 5 worst moves in franchise history if Amare left and doesn't need MF surgery again.

i would give him a standing ovation. he was and still is my favorite player in the NBA. I can understand him he chose security and money over a WCF team. and now his Knicks are way better than his old Suns. As already mentioned the Suns choose the 100 mil for Warrick,Childress , Turkoglu and Frye. Ok Turk is gone but cmon? that was totally bull****
if we had spent the money more carefully and would be a top 6 team in the WC most of u would cheer for Amare.
GO AMARE

I am still a Suns fan but i think the management did some horrible transactions the last 3-4 years. we have no superstar in 2012/2013. our 3 best players are 33 , almost 37,38. goodbye playoffs for the next 2-3 years.
lopez sucks, dragic needs more confidence, we have too many wings.
i have faith in gorat but that's it.
GO SUNS!!!

I'm voting for him - he showed nothing but class in the way he left, the ad, the TPE - Stat's a good guy and more power to him

I don't vote for ASG because I find it worthless, but I'd vote for him because he deserves it.

As for root for him, you bet your ass I'm rooting for him and the Knicks overall. Not Friday, obviously.

And I know, just our luck, he won't need any surgery during this contract of his.

^^^ 100% true. Amare as a person was pretty horrible.

I'm shocked by his production and maturity in NY....I will admit that he has become a great leader. ...but I'm pissed he was not more of a leader here.

I still hope he blows out a knee again....he deserves it.
