What a way to go-out, terrible timing. I feel bad for Tough Juice.

Don't want Caron back. His inability to catch and shoot in Flip's offense frustrated me. Besides, he's looked slower each of the past 3 years and his injury creates probable increased deterioration.

DeShawn Stevenson had 21 points (5 3s) against Cleveland. I wonder if they gave him a standing ovation.

The out-pouring of love for DeShawn Stevenson continues. What a turnaround, remember this Blatche trade advocates.

I don't think anybody currently giving Stevenson love thinks that he'd be having the same kind of season were he still in a Wizards uniform. Being asked to play a key role on a rebuilding team is completely different from being asked to be the 10th option on a contending team.

So if your point is that Blatche's only chance to have any kind of future is to be a deep bench player on another team, then I absolutely agree with you.

Stevenson had 18 points - tied for the lead in scoring- with Dirk and Caron out as the Mavericks beat the Blazers 84-81. Looks like Stevenson has recovered from those back injuries- we'll see how long it lasts.

Evan Dunlap (Magic blogger) had a couple noteworthy Gil tweets last night:

Gilbert Arenas went 2/2 on 3s tonight, 0/7 on 2s. With that showing, the Magic might as well have traded for Jason Kapono.

SVG on Gilbert: "I didn't think he played well tonight, at either end [of the court]." Arenas did not speak to the media following the game.

Wrong thread, but shouldn't we expect to see a similar turnaround with Andray once he has healed 100% and his minutes have been reduced? I suspect that we would see the return of 7-day Dray if he were playing for a different coach.

What would possibly lead you to believe this. Maybe that argument can apply to McGee who doesn't seem to inspire much confidence in Flip, but Flip gives all the minutes Blatche can handle and then some. Blatche should LOVE Flip right now and do anything for him. I hardly think Blatche's problems are due to conflict with his coach.

I suspect a new coach would quickly figure-out that Dray shouldn't be playing 40 minutes a night coming off of surgery and he will play better.

Most folks hating Blatche forget Stevenson's back was hurting last year. Flip gave DeShawn all those starts over Young when you and a minority knew Flip was wrong, then.

closq, Andray is so much worse after the season he came in as seven-day prepared Dray, I think the ONLY explanation is he's hurting like DeShawn was. The biggest problem IMO is the pattern Flip is stuck on is he has faith to play Blatche 40 mins, even with Andray struggling.

I don't want him traded because he's great at that contract, with his size and skill.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

As I was watching the first half of the game tonight, it is apparent that Stevenson just get the little things (ie where to be on the defensive end, how to make a pass). Problem of course was that Stevenson was struggling to find his shot after coming off of back surgery and his upside was limited with this roster going forward. That being said, I wish him the best of success. I would like to see him get a ring before LeDouche.

Antawn Jamison with 32 points and 4 board in a losing effort against the Raptors. In his last game, he had 35 points and 10 boards against the Mavericks.

Gil stinks up the joint but gets minutes because of GOOD DEFENSE????????? Has hell frozen over?

Gives an interview where apparently Arenas did not realize that EFJ had been fired and the defensive system he describes has not been in place for a season and a half.

Wow. So that means Gil had not listened to a SINGLE WORD Flip said about defense.

There seem to be 2 big factors that determine Stevenson's success. One is he seems reliant on PG play, the other is his health. With a bad back and poor PG he was terrible. He is playing a lot more with Kidd this season and is presumably healthy.
