About the Leaf goal that was called back ...

Was that a referee error or is that the way they will be calling it?

According to the announcers this is how they will be calling those plays all year.

Folks we was stiffed!

Their Defenceman hooked Blake in front of the net pushing him into Gerber and there was supposed to be a penalty called but against whom the defenceman or Blake and then they had a conference and disallowed the goal with no penalty...
Fishy call and even JFJ thought so throwing a chair to show his anger...LOL

Toskala #1 goal tender and should handle most of the games, he was great...

Everyone should take a really good look at the replays on TSN...
Blake was forced into the goal tender by the Ottawa Defenceman and just managed to brush by him and barely touched Gerber, it wasn't as though he dragged his foot and tripped Gerber or even bowled him over, I thought interference was just that.
Many times a player standing in front of the net backs into the crease and interferes with a goal tender a lot worse than what Blake did to Gerber but this is to be expected when bad officiating decides games...

The part that really bugged me was that they disallowed the goal but did not give Blake a penalty. That does not make any sense in my opinion.

Thats right goal tender interference is a penalty but none was given and the defenceman wasn't penalized either so it was just a bad call that changed the game and basically lost us the game, even the announcers thought they blew the whistle because they lost sight of the puck and that, that had disallowed the goal...
Referee's are usually pretty good and they do have a tough job but that game's officiating bordered on the bizarre..

I personally think the refs are always out to get the Leafs after the Long Island debacle with Kerry Fraser costing the Leafs a playoff spot calling back the Sundin goal.....if it had counted, the Leafs would've won in regulation and not lost in a shootout. The Leafs ended up needing that point in the end.

Funny how things work out :(
