I do not want to be premature, but I like what I am seeing from Christian Eyenga. I recall reading an article that focused on Scott wanting Eyenga to work on his defense while in the D League, and it seems as though Eyenga has bought in. With his length and quickness, he really does seem like he has the tools to be an elite defender. His ability to run the floor is also a big plus with our offense. If he continues to work on his defense, as well as his outside shot, I think he could be someone to get excited about. Props to Scott for giving him minutes also.

When we drafted him I said that I would be surprised if he ever scored a point in the NBA, so he has exceeded my expectations.

I saw him jump for a rebound and that jid is amazingly athletic.

He reminds me alot of a younger rawer,little more atheltic version of Michkael Petrus, he does not have the strength or jumper of Petrus yet but I could definately see that happening in the future.

Has anyone seen Eyenga crack a smile yet? He really doesnt look like he is having any fun out there, I am sure he is concentrating on what the caoching staff is teaching him and trying to apply it on the court, but I would like to see him look like he is at least enjoying himself out there.

It has to be nerves. Give him a few more games to get comfortable, and I am sure you will see him smile after he dunks over someone on a fast break.

He actually did smile after that sick chase down block last game. It was nice to see him at the top of the square swatting that shot. I am looking forward to him becoming more comfortable on the floor so that his athleticism can show even more. He is the definition of a raw project, but if the reports of him being dedicated to learning defense and being a hard worker are true we shold see some real progress throughout this season.
