NY has nothing to offer, but I just know as soon as the Melo thing is settled, one way or the other. Donnie will make a move quickly. Again I wonder if that number 1 that Indiana was offering for Anthony Randolph is still on the table, because I still can see a 3 team deal involving NY & Denver and Melo winding up here.....

Seriously folks, I'm not even sweating this. Melo does not want to be bending over for the Knicks for the rest of his career. Like LeBron said (like him or not, I have to agree with him here), the Nyets should be contracted. Everybody knows this including Melo (and Nets management, for that matter )

I think so, will Melo make them a playoff team in the east? it seems like you need that one star to convince other players to come and by the time the move comes around they would have a little more flexability. I do it for just tickets sales alone.

Unless the Nets plan on giving Melo an ownership share of the rean (and no they cant) ticket sales wont matter to Melo as an incentive for join a gutted Nets team. And its 2.5 years before Brooklyn meaning hell be playing half his prime in Newark. Hardly any incentive. Sure Denver can still trade him to NJ but something likely lose their job in the near future on account of it.

Plus, if they acquire Melo before the deadline, the Nets would still be hard pressed to make the playoffs this year. Right now they are a 10-win team, which is likely worse than what the Nuggets would be without Melo. So he'd be joining a worse supporting cast and having to dig them out of a pretty big hole. Even if they can manage to win games at around Denver's current pace (.571) for the 2nd half of the season, they are looking at like 30-35 wins. If they sneak in, it'd probably be as the 8th seed at best.

Yet we are reading about how the Nuggets current struggles in winning might make him more inclined to sign an extension with New Jersey.

Yep thats like saying that if a guy is dating a girl that is a little heavy that he must love fat chicks.

Seems like Spears trying to pitch the Nets. Maybe Wojina is sharing some "ideas" that he "didn't" get from the Nets (and which never came with a black satchel) with Spears.

Just a couple weeks ago, Spears said: "While reuniting with Miller would be attractive to Anthony, sources continue to insist the Nets would likely need to acquire an additional quality player for Anthony to seriously consider committing to a contract extension with the franchise."

Oh and by the way, Chris Paul is not going to be possible for the Nyets. They'll have no assets and they have too much cap space committed to Petro, Outlaw, Farmar.

doubt it. pacers won't just trade away danny granger and not even get Melo in return. any trading involving Granger has to have Melo going to IND.

And by the way, it is painfully obvious that on Spears' reporting that "sources say the Nets are confident that they can get Anthony to sign an extension" ... those sources are the NETS.

And this is a Nets official: “It is all on Denver. They will trade him or lose him,” one Eastern Conference executive said. “There is no gray area.”

And ergo the Nets are the ones saying that they can get Chris Paul. "Don't be surprised if they turn their attention to Chris Paul." ORLY? It's the Nets saying this (anonymous tampering ... stay classy).

So anybody who doesn't think that the Nets are using the media to help turn the tide in their favor with Melo is being naive. They are.

And if I'm right, they are getting desperate. Which is a good sign for the Knicks.

Hopefully Spears and Wojina enjoy their his & hers shiny new Oldsmobiles. Well, Wojina has to pay off his creditors first.

I don't know why the Nets are optimistic they can land Melo. If anything, they should be sh*tting there pants based off what Melo said. He clearly wants to win and last time I checked, the Nets are in a much worse situation that the Nuggets.

Didn't Indiana want Randolph before and were willing to give up a number 1 for him? I would bet that is where Donnie is going to get that pick. The question is would Denver be interested in Danny Granger. I can see a deal like this going down, because for all that Minnesota trade talk we keep hearing, Donnie never does what is reported outright, there is always a twist....So how about:

Granger, Jeff Foster an Indiana 1st in 2011 and both New York 2nd round picks go to Denver.
Curry, Azuibuke (Big Time Cap Relief) and Anthony Randolph to Indiana

Carmelo Anthony to The New York Knicks....

I have always thought that since AR is not working out in NY, that Donnie will wind up sending Randolph to Indiana.

That was in response to if it would be worth it for the nets to give up everything to get Melo and I said yes as long as he comes with an extension, No way does any of that convince Melo to come though.

Guess what everyone, these superstars actually care about winning now...see Lebron. Melo does as well--it makes 0 sense for Melo to go to the Nets. He's on a team that has 20 wins...does he really want to go to a team with 10? This is all fake hustle. Pop some valium and wake up in February if you can't handle it.
