Suns to sign Dowdell to 10-day Contract

Coro:

Suns will sign Zabian Dowdell tomorrow to a 10-day contract. Going back to preseason idea of a 3rd point guard for practices.

I'd prefer someone else but whatever. He won't get game time. Just for practice i suppose.

Not good news at all. This just goes to show that the Suns are indeed shopping Nash and Goran is going to start and Zabian is going to be backup Point Guard. This must mean the Suns are targeting a big guy for Nash. But which team could it be?

Or we could just assume that Coro, Babby and Nash aren't liars and go with the "this is for practice" purposes.

I dunno why Zabian...we've literally tried him out 4 times over 3 years, he's clearly not an NBA player.

But if it's just for practice I guess that doesn't really matter, maybe they felt he'd be a better practice player than the other guys.

Well if everyone remembers what type of player he was, it makes sense for practice purposes. He is a scoring pg, that is quick in dribble penetration. Sounds like something we could use a lot of practice against....

is this a move to make a guy like carter available? goarn could switch on the shooting guard pos to back up j-dud. carter could be moved for a starting pf like okafor.

nash - dowdell
dudley - goran
ghill - pietrus
okafor - frye
gortat - lopez

it couldn´t get any worser than we are doing right now.

That makes sense - if they were looking at the possibility of a season-long pickup I really think they woudl go for Janning again as the coaching staff loved the kid, as did I - in a thoroughly hetero, boosterish way
