Lecavlier vs Heatley

Post#1 » by Griff83 » Wed Sep 19, 2007 11:24 pm

who would you rather have on your team?

Ill Take Vinny, I like the way he impacts the game more then Heatley and feel he was actually the best player in the league last season even though Crosby won the Hart award.

I take Lecavalier, He's the glue that makes Tampa turn. In my mind he was an MVP candidate AHEAD of Crosby last year (Luongo actually getting the MVP).

Agreed.

Crosby might have led the league in terms of pts last year but if you watched both players on a regular basis I feel Lecavlier was the bigger impact player and he became a very good penalty killer last season as well. His combination of speed, size and skill is really unmatched in the NHL in my opinion.

Really? I'll take Heatley any day

Ill take his back to back 50 goal, 55 assist years. Hes also a +60 combined the last 2 years.

Id like to see one more good year from Vinny before im on the bandwagon; his previous 3 year totals before last year were 78, 66, 75, nothing spectacular. And his +/- of +2 the last 2 years is 58 less than Heatley.

And to be honest, watching Heatley, i think he is more talented.

Im not looking at what either guy did in the previous years, im looking at what each guy did this past season and looking at there ceiling and how I think they will further progress as they hit the start of there primes. To me Lecavlier is the more skilled player, while Heatley is the better natural goal scorer. Last season was Vinny not only in my opinion the best player in the league, but became a excellant penalty killer and improved on his leadership abilities. Im also not even going to look at there plus minus over the past few seasons considering one guy plays on a very good defensive team while the other doesnt.

I'll take Heatley only because he played for the team I do now so Im really biased on this one. Still how can one argue with back to back 50 goal seasons.

Lecavalier is the best player in the NHL right now and arguably was last season.

guy does everything (score, set players up, fights and kills penalties.)
