David Khan will be dumb enough to do it.

The Nuggets are trying to recruit the Timberwolves as the third team in a potential Carmelo Anthony trade with the Nets, according to Ken Berger of CBS Sports.

Denver wants Minnesota to take on Troy Murphy and send a first-round pick to New Jersey to facilitate the deal.

The Timberwolves have two extra first-round picks in 2011 -- one each from the Jazz and Grizzlies.

LOL. Let us dump Troy Murphy on you, as your reward for being part of the deal, you get to ship out the MEM 1st round pick.

Sounds like a Khan trade.

Why the hell would Minn trade a first round pick for Troy Murphy? None of this BS makes any sense.

On a side note - the list of players that NJ was touting as their strong supporting cast for potential free agents seems to be dwindling by the day. I was hearing about how much Troy Murphy would help them, how much potential Terrence Williams had, what a draw Harris was, Favors (OMG #3 PICK!!) and even some stuff about CDR. What happened? Sounds as if we're down to Lopez, who is averaging less rebounds than Wilson Chandler and Landry Fields, and is shooting 45% as a center. Wee...

i remember when the Nets had all the assets and the Knicks had garbage.

All that garbage in the scrap heap is hovering around the 4th seed in the east.

Have they gotten Melo to sign off on going to Jersey if they recruit Hamilton & Billips? Why bother with any of this until you have a firm commitment?

If Melo ends up in NJ along with an extension, we can thank Rose and our old friend WWW.

If we're honest about what players would be around Carmelo, NY annihilates NJ. I see no reason why Melo would happily stay in NJ.

It's all convoluted right now, but I'll keep it simple:

Carmelo needs a "vocal leader" superstar alongside him who he knows, and who relishes being a vocal leader, and that's Amare. It's a natural fit chemistry wise.

It all comes down to what is Carmelo's best career move: make sure he ends up on a team where he can win now and contend for a championship over the long term. Sure, the 3 yr. extension money would be icing on the cake, but he still needs to make the best overall career decision for himself and his family.

It might be hard for him to accept, but Carmelo can't really avoid becoming a "villain" in Denver unless he stays there. I know Amare just got a warm greeting in Phoenix, but that's a different scenario.

By the end of this weekend, Melo should state his position one way or the other. This thing has gone viral, and it can't be comfortable for him, when a teammate of his, may have to move even if he don't want to. I'm sure this has become a huge distraction for the Nuggets players. Nugget managment is playing with fire, if they are pursuing all of this without Melo's blessings. I lost a brother last year and if Melo's state of mind is anywhere near where mine was, Denver should know now is not the time. Melo is likely not to give a rats azz right now, so I hope from management to his agent the breaks are pumped a little.

Have they gotten Melo to sign off on going to Jersey at all? The Nets really look like the guy that just keeps trying even though he knows the girl wants nothing to do with him.

If we dont get melo we should go after iguodala he would be a great fit, we could use his defense. Why not get both him and melo?

Knicks get;
Melo
Iguodala
Battie

Denver gets;
Chandler
Speights
Curry
1rd pick via philly

Philly gets;
Gallo
Randolph
Azubukie
Mason
