Just wondering

Post#1 » by KLEON » Sat Jan 8, 2011 10:31 pm

I heard all of you people say the Suns should have re-sign Lou Amundson, so I was wondering if you guys would do this trade:

Warriors get: J Chill and Warrick

Suns get: Lou and Radmanovic

I'd do it, just imagine Lou and Gortat together playing on the defensive end

I'll drive Chill and Hak up to NorCal and pick up Lou and Rad myself. I'll kick Hak in the a$$ as he's gettin outta my ride for being so soft and worthless on defense.

I like Childress, and think he could help us for years to come. But if it means we get rid of Warricks contract, i am willing to kick in money to get a charter flight for them to get the hell out of here!!!

Would have thrown in a 2nd round pick if you'd asked.

Hmm guess I'm in the minority saying I don't think it's worth it. Lou was huge for us here, but with Gortat now we really don't need him. Chill and Warrick could get us more than that IMO. Or at least something we need more than that.

I agree with you. We dont need Amundson anymore and im sure we could rid our selves of Chill+Warrick in other trades that we could benefit more from.

No... you are part of the silent majority.

Again, so much angst about being LOU-less. He'd be here if he would have accepted the offer the FO gave him. He nose thumbed it and signed for virtually the same $$ almost a month later after sweating for a job.

the spiltmilk crowd is relentless... move on

and PS.... Why the hate on Chill ? The dude is a solid ball player. We have Pietrus at the same $$ on an expiring deal. Much more movable trade piece. Trade Childress if teams are wanting him. He is no toss in so other teams can jettison their dead weight.

I would do it. Not because I think Lou is the "missing piece" or the solution to all our problems. I just think that Lou and Radman fit better and would make the rotations slightly easier. Childress is a nice player and while I do see some Matrix in him, I think it's expecting too much for him to play Marion's role as the athletic 4 who rebounds, runs but also guard opposing 4's. As a 3, his lack of range does become a bit of a liability in our system and I think that's why it's hard giving him PT. I never really had much love for Warrick and I'd rather have Lou's consistent intense defense and rebounding than the occasional ESPN highlight dunk we get from Warrick. Offensively, Warrick isn't even a significant upgrade over Lou. Yeah, he has a few more moves than Lou and is the better offensive player, but as a player playing his role with the 2nd unit, Lou is the better fit with his defense and hustle. Warrick's defense hurts the make up of the 2nd unit. Radman's kind of the odd man out, but at least he can come in and hit some 3's and he's also an expiring deal.

I'm not sure we could get a whole lot for Childress/Warrick TBH. I think it was Coro or someone, who reported that no one has inquired about Childress at all, and Warrick, being in somewhat of a doghouse, has very little trade value. Both players are on relatively reasonable deals, but with the lockout looming, a lot of teams are cautious about making a commitment to long-term money, regardless of how reasonable.

From a financial standpoint, we'd be in a better situation after this trade. Lou's on a measly $2.5m a year deal with next season being a PO. Radman's an expiring. In terms of trade value, I don't think many teams have much need for Childress or Warrick, especially on the kind of long-term deals they're on so, at best, we're looking at trading for guys who fit the team better rather than an upgrade in talent.

Do it - only because as previous poster says, RadVlad is expiring. I hate to lose Chilly but ... it's the cost of moving hakim I suppose

Vlad will fit right in. I wasnt' sure about his game so I looked it up - about what I remembered

http://hoopshype.com/players/vladimir_radmanovic.htm

decent rebounder, soft defensively, no inside game to speak of, 6'10", shoots the three

I loved the idea of Chill and Pietrus as perimeter defenders, long and agile - a shame

and in fairness, I cheered the HW signing. i was wrong. Warrick and Childress could have been DLee,although I recall there was astumbling block in going afterhim

The big prize in this trade is Rad's expiring $6.8m contract, plus getting rid of Hak and Chill's long term contract. This a huge financial win for a rebuilding team.

I would however rather keep Chilly and trade Warrick + Peitrus for Lou + Rad.
