We need players who can play some D - Irving and Jonas fit the bill.

He could as well be the next Nowitzki. You never know. But I agree that he doesn't fit.

Just want to note that Memphis has the 9th best record in the West behind Denver, New Orleans, and Portland. I could see Memphis squeaking by since Portland can't seem to stay healthy and Denver will likely be forced to trade Anthony.

If Memphis does indeed make the playoffs, I expect Minnesota to pick at #16.

Kind of yuck, unless everyone declares. If they do I'd be fine picking JV and then using the Utah pick, if necessary, to move the Memphis one up to get a shot at Singleton or Burks.

Burks is leading his team to an upset win over #7 Mizzou. At last check, Burks had 24 pts, 6 rebounds

That would be impossible considering that next years draft pick is Top 12 protected.

Sampson and Iverson have been non-existent for a while now. Personally, Id like to see a lineup of Mbakwe at the 5 and Rodney at the 4. Well, probably not for this game though. Ohio st plays 2 post guys.

I think i might weep if we end up drafting Sullinger. Out of all of the prospects, he is probably the worst fit.

I think Mbakwe would be a good fit though....whenever he declares. i think he could be the next great undersized PF in the NBA.

Mbakwe needs a mid-range jumper if he wants to make it in the nba. Right now, he doesnt have one. He looks like he has some decent handles though

I watched the 2nd half of that game. At first I was all disappointed because Burks wasn't doing anything (although he did extensive damage in the 1st half). Then, Burks scored 11 of Colorado's last 15 points and assisted on one of the other baskets. He made some ridiculous shots while doing so. I'm guessing he'll fall in between our pick ranges this year.

A couple guys I would like the Wolves to keep in mind if they hold onto the Utah pick are LaceDarius Dunn and Cory Joseph. Dunn somewhat reminds me of Wesley Matthews at Marquette, although Matthews didn't develop a jumper until his senior season. Joseph may or may not declare this year, but he's got good size at PG, gets after it on defense, makes good decisions and can shoot. He's also having to play off the ball a decent amount this year due to the backcourt logjam in Texas.

A guy that hasn't been mentioned, but should be because of his play, is Derrick Williams of Arizona. He's been an absolute beast this year. Good hands and body control, explodes to the rim, a bit of a tweener, finishes well, very effective with his jump shot thus far. Probably not the best fit for the Wolves, and another guy who will likely fall right between their pick ranges, but his play deserves some notice.

I really dont like Dunn as a prospect at all. The dude is a straight up chucker who doesnt do much else to help his team. I dont think he will be a good pro at all. I'd much rather draft a player like David Lighty over Dunn with our utah than him. I actually think he could be a good player. He can shoot, drive, real smart and heady player, and plays great defense - might have a chance to be Afflalo 2.0.

I dont know much about Marshon Brooks, but if he is a decent defender with good foot speed, then id be fine with him too. The dude is lighting it up at providence

As for Jospeh, I dont think we draft him because, unlike Irving, he clearly isnt better or will be better than what we have.

Another guy to keep an eye on is Justin Holiday, Jrue's older brother. He's nothing special, but he's long, athletic, plays defence and seems to have awesome role player potential. Draftexpress threw around a Fields comparison and while I wouldn't go that far he's definitely someone that looks like he could contribute.

But honestly, there's only 3 guys I really want out of this draft; Jonas Valunciunis, Chris Singleton and Alec Burks. Some combination of those 3 would be awesome in my books, assuming the team doesn't end up with the #1 overall pick.

Colorado up 7 on #20 KSU. Burks struggling at just 1-10 shooting. Also has 5 boards right now

Wow, Burks just played worse D on a corner 3 than the Wolves do....

But then he had a nice play on offense to follow...

Looks like Mbakwe is out for a little bit at least. Arrested on harassment charges. There was also something in the newspapers about him punching a lady in the face down in Miami before coming to the U of M.

Its against lowly Iowa State (poor Hoiberg), but Marcus Morris is dominating. Has 31/13 right now with 30 secs left

As a KU fan I'll give you a rundown of Morris...he seems more like a 3 then a 4, although he's not that quick. Has a good jumper, decent-good post game, very good passer, solid rebounder. I think he'll find a home in the league as a solid big off the bench for somebody.

Alec Burks is someone I really want. He shot bad tonight but he showed that he has some good handles, and some awesome quickness. His defense is meh...but that seems like it's mostly effort from him. A scoring 2 guard would really help us right now IMO.

I'm not a Burks fan. I think he's getting overrated because of a dearth of shooting guard talent this year.
