OT: TURK SHINING WITH 17 ASSISTS

Post#1 » by illyasova » Sun Jan 9, 2011 5:19 am

It is just incredible how it is matter for players to be in the right system, feel the trustment on his ownself and give the job knows him so well. It is sure Suns misused him as no one was surprised he could not achieve as a PF. In 10 matches with orlando he made one tripple double and one double double. He is averaging nearly 13 points, 6.5 assists and 5 reb. I really wonder if the winner was Suns or Magic after the trades and if Nash gets traded, WTF hedo is gone then.

I forgot to write his stat line here so against Dallas today, 13 points 17 assists 3 rebounds and 5 steals 1 block

The winner was Hedu....

Look where he started this yr. Got out of miserable Toronto, passed through mediocre Phnx, and now is back on a top tier team and contributing significantly to boot. Come Back Player of the Yr may be?

I am glad for him.... but feel sorry for Gortat.

Wish we could get your namesake here.... somehow.

Why do you feel sorry for Gortat? He's playing more minutes than he's ever played in his entire career in Orl. He's still young so I don't think championships is as important to him as proving his worth.

Yea, Ersan Ilyasova would be perfect for the suns as A PF. He is fast, agile, rebounds like a crazy, battles under the rim, can some play 3 too and shoot well. Bucks call him Ersanator or Turk Nowitzki and as i know after this year he has player option. It is same for him like Hedo in Toronto. He is in a
team where every players just thinking of their own statistics, no goals, no motivation. In suns he can be perfect with Steve. Cool front court Turk Nowitzki and Polish hammer

perhaps.... but losing sucks, no matter which way you look at it. There's a bad vibe brewing here.

Yeah, but I'd rather work for a crappier company where my talents are maximised and work is acknowledged than for a multi-million dollar company where I'm the secretary to the boss. I think he's happy he now has an opportunity to start and not play in Dwight's shadow.

Having heard Gortat complain about playing time regularly for the past three seasons while playing backup to D12, I can say with 100% confidence that he is THRILLED to be a Sun and to have a chance to earn very big minutes. Gortat *is* a winner, but PT always seemed to be the most important thing to him, at least when addressing the media.

Thanks for the input Cig :D

Yeah his minutes have been extremely limited for how much we theoretically can offer him. I guess that's how you know a trade is adding value for both sides, we weren't giving Earl Clark minutes and now he'll have a chance, they weren't giving Gortat the minutes we can, etc.

I just can't move past the JRich part of the trade. He was our first option and now we literally don't have a first option. So yeah.

It is obvious that the winners in this exchange is Orlando.
Hedo is a player who knows how to run the game, it lacks in Orl, because thay have a bad play maker.
But you have Nash, Hedo here could have the freedom he has in Orl.

Good for Hedo. He's talented but he needs to be in the right system with primary responsibilities on the offensive end to play at a good level. He should stick with Dwight for the rest of his career now after the Toronto and Phoenix sagas.

Turk was a horrible acquisition for the Suns since he isn't at all a good fit in an open court uptempo system, and we're overloaded with swingmen. Getting rid of his contract was by far the smartest move the Suns did this year.

Good for Earl Clark too, dude needed a change of scenery and coaching to get going aparantly.

Of course Orlando got the better end of the talent in the trade which is why they were willing to take on all that salary. Not sure if they'll feel like winning the trade means much if the team fails to win a championship after going all in.

Suns weren't going anywhere before the trade but at least they have more options to position themselves to improve.

I actually think the Suns might have won this one.

Yeah, Hedo has been flourishing with us, but it's not like he was going to get to do that with the Suns. There is no way he was going to get to make plays before Nash, and he shouldn't be allowed to, Nash is on another level than him. So for you guys, he was pretty much a bad contract, that you were able to life for a 7 footer.

You gave up an expirer for and expirer, a bad contract for a potential starting 7 footer, and a young prospect (who wasn't getting much pt) for Pietrus, $3m, and a pick. I still think you guys made out like well.

The mistake wasn't trading him to Orlando. Regardless of his play right now, you had to make the move because it was a terrible fit. The mistake was acquiring Hedo in the first place.

Once again, at worst this trade is a wash. Even with JRich we weren't going anywhere, maybe a .500 ball club and we'd still be trying to fit Hedo in. EC would still be sitting on the pine. At least now we have a lot of financial wiggle room.
