In the long run I don't really want any of those guys. Two busts and one person who is pretty unpredictable although very solid.

check this out below trade checker 14 players:
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=2etwew4

As many as 17 players, plus multiple draft picks, could be involved in the deal, several sources confirmed. One league executive said "15 to 17 players could ultimately be involved." And there are all the draft picks to consider, too.

The Nets, who have sought to do a team-to-team trade with the Nuggets, have induced Detroit into the talks with the Pistons eager to shave salary. The Nets, under the whopper trade which is nowhere near close to be completed, would essentially gut their current roster. At 10-26, that might not be a bad thing.

The Pistons rejected a trade offer from the New Jersey Nets late Friday that would have sent Hamilton and a first-round draft pick to the Nets, according to a source.

The trade would have brought forward Troy Murphy, who has an expiring contract; center Johan Petro, who is owed almost $7 million over the next two seasons; and a player to be determined to the Pistons.

The proposed trade also would have sent Denver Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony to New Jersey.

A source said the Pistons quickly rejected that deal.

I would not want to give up Terrico White and Wilcox on top of everything else. There are better deals out there.

But most of all I think speculation on the NJ trade is a waste of time. The odds are not high for a trade especially when Melo is so unlikely to extend with NJ. And ESPN just said Billups would have no interest in NJ and would demand a buyout.

A 17 player trade would be insane. I'd love to acquire Farmar though and see what he could do at PG. Farmar & Chris Duhon are under the radar guys off the top of my head that I'd be willing to trade for at PG.

On another note, I can't believe people consider Devin Harris a downgrade from Rodney Stuckey. Seriously? He's a far superior ball-handler, far better facilitator, and has better range to stretch the floor and hit the 3. It's not even close. Rodney Stuckey is one of the worst PG's in the NBA as a facilitator of offense, and no team will ever achieve any success with Rodney Stuckey as their primary ball-handler in the halfcourt. Stuckey is a 6th-man, while Devin Harris is a all-star caliber talent. Wow.

As a point guard you're right. But as an overall player, it is arguable. I'd take Harris and Petro for Stuckey and Hamilton though. The only reason is because we all know Harris is a starting point guard while we debate if Stuckey should be or not. I believe he should start but he should not handle the ball. He could be a Chauncey facilitator but that only works when you have long range. So the ball shouldn't be in his hands. Only when playing with the bench. Can Daye or Gordon handle the ball? I don't know about Daye, but definetly not Gordon. I think when Prince leaves, Daye will get a better chance to handle the ball more. I know he can dribble very well for a 6'11''. So as far as I know, he can handle the ball. And when I say handling, I mean bringing it up the court and trying to make a double team or draw any defense. His height help him very much. All I worry about with him is the defense. I watched him play and he's still the same guy- bricks for feet. On the other hand, he blocked the shot when the guy passed him. Yes the height helps, but how much can it help at the perimeter. I say another hard working offseason with him would do him great.

The idea was to come up with something other than forfeiting the 1st rounder...definitely not married to the pick in this draft... otoh we can get real value in trade from this pick when the time is right.

Not want to give up Wilcox? :o

The guy has played in like 10 games in the last 2 yrs. I agree on White, but if the end result is enough cap space to land an elite big man in FA this summer than I'm all for it. I would not give any 1st round picks away though.

Have at it man. What is the most amount of players traded in one deal?

Seriously? Stealing trades now.

You know you took that trade idea from TraderJoe on TT

Rip for Murphy is what the Pistons want. The teams are still in communication, hopefully they will settle on something like Rip for Murphy/Petro or Rip/2nd for Murphy

You didn't simply mention the same trade, you copy and pasted someone else's post and didn't give them credit. Since this isn't something published, you're right, it's not against the law, but it's still very tacky. Use the quote button or at least mention where the word for word post came from instead of passing it off as your own.

Doesn't Chauncey's unwillingness to play for NJ pretty much ruin this deal? I mean NJ wouldn't want RIP if CB isn't going there, and Melo wouldn't want to go if either of them aren't there.

The direct link to the article, found from Spider's link:

http://www.northjersey.com/sports/pro_sports/basketball/nets/010911_Nets_still_working_on_three-way_deal_that_would_bring_them_Carmelo_Anthony.html

The Nets would send Devin Harris, rookie power forward Derrick Favors, Anthony Morrow, Stephen Graham, Ben Uzoh and at least two first-round picks to Denver and Troy Murphy, Johan Petro and Quinton Ross to Detroit. The Nets also would receive big man Sheldon Williams from Denver and guard Terrico White from Detroit. Additional players would change teams to make the salaries match.

Due to the size of the deal, which would be the biggest in NBA history, it could be difficult to come together. But one league source said the sides were in “serious discussions,” while another said talks “are progressing,” and it’s possible something could happen with Anthony this week.

The team that gets Anthony immediately becomes frontrunners for Chris Paul, who could become a free agent in 2012. Anthony and Paul (and Hamilton) are represented by the same agent, Leon Rose, of Creative Artists Agency, which also counts James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh as clients.

CP3/Melo/Rip/Lopez could be scary good. I know 80% of the board hates Rip but the fact remains he is a quality player. He would compliment CP3/Melo beautifully, and with CP3 getting him the rock it'd be vintage Rip all day every day. Actually IMO that "big 3" would be much better playing off each other than the one in South Beach. Lopez has been struggling this year, but with that kind of talent to take pressure off him, he would step his game up quite nicely as well.
