What I find funny nothing on ESPN just flipped to get a break from the shooting news
you would think since this is so hot it would be on the ticker...........

Bottom line is DEN has made it clear they do not want to deal with Knicks, period. It was always going to be up to Melo to use leverage.

DEN was willing to play chicken with him by Feb. 24 because they knew the CBA worried him. Agents in his ear on losing $$ in new CBA as FA.

and yet, somehow ppl will still find a way to kill donnie, dolan and d'antoni once Melo goes to NJ and signs an extension.

It's in Melo's hands, always was.

If this trade breaks down because of something other than the extension, I'll know that this is all a sham. It's funny how that part of this is just being omitted.

It's not about how good the team would be guys, or whether NYK would be better - which we would be. . it's about whether it's enough to make him say 'okay' to putting the whole situation he is in now behind and being able to move on with his life back east near home and start fresh. .

Melo Rip Lopez and Billups would certainly be enough names to Melo feel like he has some names around him, whether they're older vets that have a few yrs left or not. . I don't think he's looking for it to be a championship contending team. .

though he has to look beyond right now, yeah it'll get him out of Denver and the situation he's in . . but once that's over and he's settled in in NJ, will he want to be there? Will his team have any shot for the next few years?

If he signs in NJ for the sake of argument he'll have to know he will always be second fiddle as they don't have the pieces to compete for more then one yr barring injuries from guys in their mid thirties to even make the post season. The move will be purely money and I would much rather have players that want to be here like our current roster is made

Lebron James knowingly let 5 other teams besides Miami make a presentation to him, and most now believe he ad his mind made up before he took even on of them, the Nets/Jay-Z among them.

Nah.

For one, Nets don't have to buy him out. Secondly, if they do, he's made it clear he wants to go back to Denver.

All we have heard since this has started is that Denver won't deal with NY. We have also heard that Melo will not sign an extension with anyone but NY. Why would that change so close to being a free agent?

Is it possible that Melo and his agents will wait until they are asked directly once a trade gets completed, then turn it down? If they are saying privately that they want NY and Denver refuses his request, why help them send him somewhere he doesn't want to go?
All-Time Draft

PG- Oscar Robertson/Bob Cousy
SG- Earl Monroe/James Harden/Dana Barros
SF- Billy Cunningham/Michael Finley/Chet Walker
PF- Elvin Hayes/Dolph Schayes/Tom Chambers/Danny Manning
C- Walt Bellamy/Neil Johnston/Darryl Dawkins

Worth stating here that Chandler is never going to be the pure scorer that Melo is but he is more athletic, less strong (but strong), and is only 23 ... already at 17 PPG and shooting high percentages.

Chandler also moves the ball and is not an iso player which is Carmelo's game and one that does not fit with what D'Antoni likes to do.

Has Melo ever gone a half a season hitting 38% of his 3's?

Chandler is very young and already very good, and will cost about half what Melo costs in $ and cap room.

Melo is a big name but is he a great fit? Not sure of that.

As others have said, we didn't lose to the Heat or Celtics because we couldn't score. It was because we didn't have a big man.

cp3???

CP3 is 2 years away with a bad knee, a great player who by the time he gets there may be 1/2 the player he was 2 years ago hell just looking at the times I saw him play he is not on the same level and running on a rep right now.
CP3 and mello with a soft center is not going to get out of the east. They need a post player and NJ does not have that maybe lopez grows into that roll but right he looks more like curry rather then Stat.

Even Melo is traded to NJ and Murphy is moved, i'd love to have his expiring shifted to us and we move Curry's to whoever Murphy was going to. I think Murphy could kill it here.

Don't do it man, don't be THAT guy. Melo is a straight up, bona fide A grade baller.
