Agree. In a couple of years the Lakers will not be as dominated. I honestly think he should go to the Mavs. Cuban should make it happen.

MAvs have no where near the young assets/picks that the Nets are offering.

Is Carmelo even a top 10 player in the league anymore?

Any word if he will sign a new deal if he goes over to the nets?

Really is almost a no brainer for Denver. Still don't see New Jersey as that good of a team though, especially without Billups. That team looks to be Atlanta/New York type level at best IMO.

If the Detroit part stays as reported, it's a great deal for them. They move Rip for an expiring contract and don't have to give up their 1st. :)

Even the Nets can't be crazy enough to make this deal unless it's an Extend & Trade.

Yikes. That is going to suck BIG time for NY, who was in dire need of a star wing player to pair with Amare/Felton.

ChrisMannixSI

League sources say Billups is only interested in leaving DEN if it means playing for a winner. Buyout a real possibility if he's sent to NJ.

still looks like Billups not wanting any part of NJ.

why do people still ask if melo will sign an extension if he goes to the Nets? The Nets wont accept the damn trade if he wont sign

Looks like Carmelo has finally caved in ... I lost respect for Melo if he in fact extended with NJ, the new CBA couldn't be so bad that you would choose money and mediocrity over a chance to compete and still make a great salary.

To some players, financial security might mean more than rings and accomplishments. Who knows what's his driving force

In that case, he'd re-sign with Denver.

I hope Billups goes to Miami after his buyout, that way Carmelo Anthony would be stuck in mediocrity for the rest of his NBA career.

First round exit, after first round exit, after first round exit.
