League sources say Billups is only interested in leaving DEN if it means playing for a winner. Buyout a real possibility if he's sent to NJ.

still looks like Billups not wanting any part of NJ.

Billups is really getting on my nerves, Holding up this trade. I mean I can understand he is old and want to be on a contender, But its not like he doesn't have a ring. Plus no contender wants him. You have to get in where you fit in.

What winner is interested in him? Most winning teams in need of a PG are all maxed out LAL, MIA...

IF Miami wants him, they can sign him to a low level exception of which you can go over the cap for.

Billups is not holding up this trade, he's playing right now. :D
He never stated publicly that he would want a buyout right after the trade. He will play this season for NJ.

according to Chris Mannix, lot of winner want Billups, he can still play PG for LAL and MIA, and he can start for those teams as well. Billups has high BBIQ and don't forget that he played with the trio on Team USA.

Why would Melo want to play with a team with Rip and Billups over the team he currently is in with Billups and I'm sure they can get Rip.

Oh its no doubt he can start for LAL. What I meant was since both teams are over the cap how will they sign him.

This trade to New Jersey isn't making since to me. Maybe someone can explain. Why would he go to the Nets? To me he is leaving one mediocre team and going to another mediocre team. Is the Nets offering him more money than the Nuggets are offering him?

Billups has a trade-friendly contract and no real leverage. There's no way the Nets would buy him out.

He/You might wanna check that again, Billups never played with Bosh/LeBron/Wade on team USA. Billups only played for USA this year, and we all know where LeBron/Wade/Bosh were this summer :)

You need an example of how some athletes are all about the money and stats? Really?

Leon Rose is his agent, who works in New Jersey, he is also the agent for Rip Hamilton as well as Chris Paul, so according to Woj (Yahoo sports writer) he has been the driving force in wanting Melo to play for the Nets, and also is claiming that if Hamilton goes to Jersey, Melo will sign.

He must have done some convincing to Melo that Jersey will be top team years to come, but why is Paul's name being mentioned in all of this, this is tampering at its finest.

Also, one more thing I want to add is that Rose is Lebron James agent as well as one of his good friends, so essentially he would want Melo to go Nets instead of Knicks so Miami's road to the title would be a lot easier.

You left Chicago out.

Sorry Billups but Nets will not buy you out chump.

I would just take Harris and Billups out of the deal if I was Denver and NJ

No, the other way around. I need an example of a NBA athlete who, being on Melo's shoes, wouldn't prioritize signing the extension. Melo's "driving force" isn't the same of "some players", it's the same that drives pretty much every other player.

Supposedly, his wife wants to live in NY. Since Knicks don't have the picks to get a deal done, this is the closest he'll come to the NY area and still collect his extension.
