If the Nets somehow landed this, they would not be better than the Knicks current lineup.

Yo know what this reminds me of, it reminds me of this year in baseball when the Yankees were on the cusp for trading for Cliff Lee only to have Seattle trade him to Texas at the 11th hour, and i think that's what's gonna happen here.

Nets told they had deal w/ Denver Saturday night, just needed to firm up with DET. NJ and DET have done that, and now DEN waffling again.

Dosent everyone realize this move has nothing to do with winning?

You think the Nets care about bringing in a championship winning team with Melo?

Their only reason why their willing to trade their lottery picks and favors is because they need someone to market and to get fans when they come to NY.

You really think anyone will convert or become fans of the Brooklyn Nets while their getting 1st picks in the draft every year with Brook Lopez as their best player?

Their not gonna have a chance in hell to make any money or make any fans or be relevant at all with a Championship winning team Like the Knicks with Amar'e,Melo,Felton,Chandler,Gallo,Fields just look at all those players etc...

Its exactly like the Lakers Clippers situation.. Have you ever met a Clippers fan? And have you ever heard 1 person say something good about them?

Thats my take on this whole situation.

Everyone already knew why the Nets were doing this. That doesn't explain why Melo would.

WojYahooNBA

Nets and Pistons are working out Petro and a draft pick to go with Murphy, but on hold as Denver "remains vague" with what else it may want.

sounds like everyone's talking but denver......

To make Billups comfortable w/Nets they would likely agree to pay $14.2 mill next season instead of using $3.7 mill buyout, source tells Y!

It kind of sucky that he is going to the Nets but its not the feeling i had with James going to another team. It is clear Melo will take the Nets deal thinking he will start his own team

Not really. The Knicks had loads of cap space available immediately, and even more the year after. That's how they were able to bring in Felton and still have room to improve the team quite a bit more after that.

New Jersey and Detroit expected Denver to sit its players tonight vs. Hornets on cusp of deal, and Denver played them. That halted things.

I was wondering the same thing. If a trade is imminient then players involved usually don't play.

I did I ended making more in the long run when I got into IT but I took a 10 k pay cut to get into IT. Some things are more important then money.

I actually passed a job that paid less but could have given me the opportunity to rise rapidly. I went with the job that paid more. 10 years later, I'm still regretting it.

Denver isn't making issue of draft pick compensation but perhaps different mix of players back from Nets, sources say. Deal will sit tonite.

heck the way we look right now Wilson is killing them. Melo who? Someone should tweet him to check out the highlights.
Seriously though in a trade like this where is the second best player going? it should be going to Denver and it isn't that is the problem with this trade. Denver is getting crap and picks. I hope they like their crap sandwich. Maybe Detroit could toast the bread for them
