People haven't said one thing about Murphy. Do you like him? Will he be good for us this season?

Wow I can't wait. I really want this trade to happen.

He certainly helps fill a hole at PF with Jerebko out. Kind of like a less athletic, but better rebounding CV. He's not a long term solution to anything though.

Were not trying to fill holes this year. More losses in 2010=more success in 2011-2012 and beyond.

It's not Dumars. It's the team sale. He needs to save as much money as possible for the team sale because that's probably what Karen wants. If this goes down. Consider the Pistons sold to Gores. BUT, it might be the only trade happening unless Gores lets Dumars make trades even with the new CBA looming. Either way, we're getting a fat expiring. Hopefully we can get something nice in the next FA. I would prefer a trade to happen before the deadline but I don't mind keeping the roster and playing the FA.

We think this way. Joe Dumars has consistently said that he doesn't.

Either way, what it means to me is that we probably won't see Daye playing the 4 anymore, and I'm ok with that.

Can someone who knows the CBA do the math?

How much cap space would we have this summer if we let Murphy, Prince, and Wilcox expire? If we have Petro and if we don't, both scenarios?

From the Denver Post... "One of the sources said that there have been some inquiries about involving the Houston Rockets into the trade.

Billups, agent Andy Miller said Sunday night that his client "has done everything he could possibly do to show he wants to be in Denver for the rest of his career. He's gone on the record about that. But if they move him, we understand it's a business."

Nuggets coach George Karl often says that he only likes to hear about trade talks if they're getting close, and before Sunday's game, Karl said of a trade: "I've been told nothing of that."

From Stein's twit "RT @christomasson: Asked if this was his last Nuggets game, Melo said. "Not at all. Not at all. Not at all. Not at all.''

Not much at all considering re-signing Stuckey and Jerebko will eat into whatever cap we do have....

Yes but you need to add the cap holds which would put us ~50 million.

Assuming the deal is Rip out, Murphy/Petro in...

Assuming we don't make any additional trades, we'll have about $39 million on the books. That would be BEFORE re-signing Stuckey and Jerebko.

Is there a concrete CBA in place for next season yet? Even if the new Cap is only $2-3 million less than last season, having cap space during the first off-season of the new CBA is intriguing.

Stuckey and Jerebko don't count against the cap. We can go over the cap space and resign Stuckey and Jerebko because we have their Bird Rights.

First of all Da-Met there will be a new CBA and we have absolutely no clue how that CBA will look like, we can't even say if there will be such a thing like cap hold.

Assuming there is little to no change at all, our payroll would be ~50 million which could give up close to 8 million in cap space with the MLE being close to 6 million, so honestly, that doesn't really give us much cap space. We would be able to add another CV contract, which means, overpay to take a MLE guy from someone else, like we did to take CV away from Cleveland.

we'd only have cap holds on Stuckey and Jerebko. Maybe Summers....everyone else would be renounced.

You are right and wrong at the same time.

We can go over the cap to sign them but we do have cap holds for them. Stuckey being ~8 million and Jonas being ~1 million.

We could renounce both but i can absolutely guarantee you that we won't.

Basically, the only way we would have significant capspace would be to let Stuckey go.

Incorrect. You would have the pick/picks cap hold and you must as well have 12 players under contract or you have cap holds for "missing players"

We also have cap holds for TMac and Prince and i am not sure we will give up them to be honest.

We would have cap holds for Wilcox and Summers but my bet is we will probably renounce both.

Or to make more trades....some combination of BG/CV/Max/Bynum for expirings.

Max or CV and Prince. That would give us cap space to sign a expensive FA.
