Incorrect. You would have the pick/picks cap hold and you must as well have 12 players under contract or you have cap holds for "missing players"

We also have cap holds for TMac and Prince and i am not sure we will give up them to be honest.

We would have cap holds for Wilcox and Summers but my bet is we will probably renounce both.

Pretty sure we'd renounce everyone except Stuck and JJ, and possibly Summers.

No reason to re-sign Prince or T-Mac onto a rebuilding team IMO.

In fact, I hope we deal a lot of our expirings before the deadline for young assets/picks.

You are right and wrong at the same time.

We can go over the cap to sign them but we do have cap holds for them. Stuckey being ~8 million and Jonas being ~1 million.

We could renounce both but i can absolutely guarantee you that we won't.

The point is we we can renounce them if we want to sign someone else. If we resign them obviously their cap holds aren't relevant as their new salaries will be on the books.

I just want to see Gordon starting without the pressure of being benched. Tmac will be moved to backup SG and Daye as backup SF. Our line would be...

Stuckey/Bynum/White
Gordon/Tmac
Prince/Daye/Summers/Jerebko
CV/Murphy/Maxiell
Monroe/Wallace/Petro/Wilcox

I have no idea if Murphy will play. Petro probably won't. But all I'm looking at is the backcourt. I like the time they'll be splitting.

If it's just Rip for Murphy / Petro, someone will have to be cut. Either White, Summers, or maybe Wilcox.

We're not going to renounce Stuck or JJ

Maxiel. Not Stuckey.

Obviously by 'let go' I wasn't talking about trading someone. Allright, I'll make a clearer sentence : if no trade happens before next season (and if the current rumored deal goes through), the only way we could have some significant capspace would be to renounce Stuckey and let him walk.

These guys are gone. No way two saavy vets in the 30s hang out for a rebuilding project at step 1.

The Lakers & Heats of the world will snatch those 2 up if we can't manage to trade them by the deadline.

Agreed. Which is why we need to deal them this season before the deadline.

Yes, that is what I just said. Their new contracts will be on the books, their cap holds are totally moot.

Yes, I am on the same page as you here. These 2 are our most valuable assets. These 2 dudes are exactly what teams making a nice playoff push need to get over the hump.

I'm fine with deals that bring back picks for both these guys.

At 10 mil 3 years? No one will touch him, he is a min salary scrub, just like Cheikh Samb was.

OKC, Orlando, Chicago and ATL need frontcout help and have crappy (small) expirings they can easily part with.

OKC = Daquan Cook
Orlando = Earl Clark, Malik Allen
Chicago = Kurt Thomas, Scalabrine
ATL = Mo Evans, Jason Collins, Etan Thomas

No way. These guys can just sign Pargo or Crittenton for 900k a year.

Ironic: about 24-30 months ago many of us were interested in Petro. Having to take back a scrub SG or SF that made 3.5 per would be bad but a young 7fter? Why not take him back and move him later? Now that Rip is gone look for Dumars to try to find another SG (Prince+Petro for Roy)

To be honest I hope Joe learns his lesson. no more than 15mil on any 1 spot on the court.

So was Samb. He may be 7 foot but he doesn't have skills. He is bad. Go to Denver and NJ boards and ask about him.

LOL Awesome. I googled him as I have heard his name but never seen him play and saw him listed as a G. So anyway yeah, his stats look worse than Kwame or Steven Hunter. I wonder what NJ would have to do to get someone to even bother with him.
