So let me get this straight... The deal would likely be Rip for Murphy and Petro?

I could live with that. We'd be stuck with Petro's 7 mil over the next 2 years, but off the hook for Rips 25 over the same duration. But I doubt we could move Petro - he's basically Diop on a slightly less atrocious deal.

This deal would fall in line with the Maggette and Turkoglu dumps that we saw this summer - expirings and a smaller deal with a couple years left. Although if we're already at 15 and are taking on 2 more players, someone has to be cut. My bet would be Summers, unless we immediately buy out Murphy.

Stuckey / Bynum / White*
Gordon / McGrady
Prince / Daye / Jerebko*
Villanueva / Murphy / Maxiell
Wallace / Monroe / Wilcox / Petro

With only Bynum, Gordon, Daye, CV, Max, Ben, Monroe and Petro having guaranteed salaries next season.

As I said, fine with this. Not an upgrade in any aspect aside from finances, but it's (hopefully) the shakeup (and exit of Rip) that we've all been waiting for.

Except by the part i got offended yes, it is fun. Depending on my mood tomorrow i might bring some historic comments from other threads to this thread like

"hey i have a great idea, let's trade Rip for Diop and Carroll."

Never said he was good. Just the fact he is a 7-footer, and those teams need frontcourt help, and are primed to make noise in the postseason. They could use him just to commit some fouls, block some shots and play 5-10 minutes per....especially in the playoffs

Your Cap math is wrong by the way. We can go over the cap to sign Stuckey and Jerbebko. So we can still sign a big FA.

You don't need to pay 10 million for that. You can go down to DLeague and find someone to do that dirty job for the minimum.

Do you understand how cap holds work?

Unless we renounce Stuckey/JJ/everyone else, we won't have much cap space....we will have their cap holds on the books until re-signed or renounced.

Ben WANTED to be here, pretty bad.

Point still is, if they could have done so as easily, they would have by now....

Dally have been horrible and Joe D said he have no intention to trade BG or CV. I think the Rip trade talks are an indication that BG is not going anywhere any time soon.

Maybe we could pawn off CV/Maxiell for Daly.

Stuckey has an 8mill hold. Jonas has a Cap hold of 1 mill.

We'll have around 13 mill if we don't renounce Stuckey and JJ....

I think if we want we can dump Maxiell. Orlando have a TPE and they probably would kill to get a guy like Max.

Dally have been really horrible, i wouldn't touch him, we don't need him at all. Monroe is finally playing great and we have Big Ben as well. If we are getting a center it's better be a major upgrade.

Assuming the deal is Rip for Murph/Petro, we'll have $39 mil on the books. Plus said $9 mil in cap holds = $48 mil. How high do you expect the cap to be?

Wouldn't want Daly....would like his expiring contract though...
