i wonder what the nets think when they hear these quotes

Probably about the same thing that the Knicks think when they hear/see these quotes:

Wojnarowski: Melo/Billups to Nets soon

Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski is now reporting that Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups will be joined by Shelden Williams and Anthony Carter in a three-team trade that will land Melo in Newark.

http://www.denverstiffs.com/2011/1/9/19 ... -nets-soon

Dunno about that. We have a good record and a young team, with cap room. And you still need your boy Melo to put his signature on a Nets contract. Probably will. But tonight he sounded perhaps a little closer to the Melo that Sheridan has been telling us about than the one that Stank Wojina is praying he will be: A sellout who will run for financial cover rather than follow his heart.

you're not giving nj enough credit. favors, harris, and 2 firsts for melo with one foot out the door, rips awful contract and the right to buyout chauncey is some atrocious value.

the nets are making a bad deal too but when you lose a franchise player no package you receive will come close to making up for it. i just find denver fans funny like they're winning something. they can do nothing but lose.

their bitterness has done a number on them

If Plan B Involves getting somebody like Iguadala and Marc Gasol or Marcus Camby then im all for it

PG- Felton
SG- Iguadala
SF- Gallo
PF- Amar'e
C- Camby or Gasol

With Fields as our 6th man

I haven't read one single post here so I'm sorry if I brought something old, but if we do get Melo in the off-season or whatever why should we bring Chandler? Gallo, Chandler and Melo seems too much. >_>

As painful it might seem but let Chandler walk if we do get Melo, use that money to ge a big and bench parts.

Or is this not possible for some reason? Yea, (as you can tell) I'm just a noob here.

It'll be epic if he goes to NJ and then the CBA would have Grandfathered him in OR they cut all contracts including his extension. That would mean he is stuck in NJ with the same contract he could have had with the Knicks.

And Leon and WWW, along with their client, will look like idiots. Honestly, that would be just about as great as getting him. He'll look pretty silly and it will be a satisfying moment for me personally.

The interview does sort of sound, when you watch it, like he is going through the motions...

sure he didn't say 'no comment' like you guys would expect, but it's pretty much the same.. 'no not at all not at all' aka deny deny deny. .

yeah he'd look like an ass if he were to sign a deal tomorrow, but he said what you would expect someone to say in his situation [If he knew he was going]. . . I mean, he even changed it to "I don't see that happening right now'' . . Dono, I didn't see the same sorta jolly / joking / smiley Melo we saw the other time it was brought up and he said 'na dog I ain't hear nothing about that' . . this seemed more like he sorta knew he was lying. . hopefully i'm wrong.

I don't understand why Melo doesn't just go out and tell the Nuggets:

"Trade me to the Knicks or I won't accept any extensions from anybody but the Knicks"

Nuggets would be forced to accept New York's offer then unless they want him to go for free.

Unless this deal happens tomorrow, it won't happen for awhile as Nets need players to play on their roadie.

If Melo is traded to the nets Not only is their future done (no picks) but their roster would be abysmal. Other then Brook Lopez were looking at one of the worst starting, and bench players the NBA has ever seen..

It makes the Kings and Clippers look like NBA Championship contendors

I wonder where Chris Sheridan is in all of this? Probably laying low. . until we hear it happened to fall through, in which case, we'll know exactly where he is..

Think of it this way though: If he is not sold on the Nets now, then why would he be in a few weeks? He says "right now" which could mean he wants to keep the Knicks alive and is willing to put the Nets on the backup option if the Knicks fall through. But if they're a backup option, he may never accept them.

Again, if he's not sold now -- thus the "right now" comment -- then it could well mean he'll never settle for the Nets. He only will accept them as a possible last resort -- those options rarely get used. Last resort options are undesirable and perhaps that's how he still views the Nyets. We'll see.

The only reason the Knicks would ever fall through is if he sells out

would'nt it be just better for denver and nj to deal straight up?.

favors,murphy,sasha 2 or all pick for melo,harrington.

PG-Harris
SG-Morrow
SF-Melo
PF-Harrington
C-Lopez

melo gets to play with young talent, he can wait a year for CP3 or howard, get to play in his hometown BK NY, harrington is also from NJ. i cant believe melo would sign an extention to play with RIP, isn't the reason hes leaving denver is because there old? melo knows hes not going to beat the heat with a 32yr RIP. its has to be ny for melo
