sure he didn't say 'no comment' like you guys would expect, but it's pretty much the same.. 'no not at all not at all' aka deny deny deny. .
yeah he'd look like an ass if he were to sign a deal tomorrow, but he said what you would expect someone to say in his situation [If he knew he was going]. . . I mean, he even changed it to "I don't see that happening right now'' . . Dono, I didn't see the same sorta jolly / joking / smiley Melo we saw the other time it was brought up and he said 'na dog I ain't hear nothing about that' . . this seemed more like he sorta knew he was lying. . hopefully i'm wrong.
Think of it this way though: If he is not sold on the Nets now, then why would he be in a few weeks? He says "right now" which could mean he wants to keep the Knicks alive and is willing to put the Nets on the backup option if the Knicks fall through. But if they're a backup option, he may never accept them.
Again, if he's not sold now -- thus the "right now" comment -- then it could well mean he'll never settle for the Nets. He only will accept them as a possible last resort -- those options rarely get used. Last resort options are undesirable and perhaps that's how he still views the Nyets. We'll see.
