Best fit for Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Wed Jan 5, 2011 1:23 am

According to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com, the re-signing of coach Marvin Lewis "would seem to seal the departures" of Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens. he Bengals owe Ochocinco a $3.5 payment if they don't pick up his $6 million option. It's a hefty sum that notoriously stingy owner Mike Brown will be loathe to swallow. Lewis confirmed a youth movement on offense, however, and Ochocinco's return would take snaps away from Jerome Simpson and Andre Caldwell. While Brown can rarely be counted on to do what is expected, it would still be a surprise if Ochocinco is brought back. Rotoworld.com

What team would be the best fit for Chad and Terrell?

I'm going to assume you mean TO. I say VERY slim. That team has already had problems in the lockeroom and they are really trying to make the leap. Last thing they need is a prima donna WR. They have enough talent with Crabtree/Davis/Gore. Problem is they need a freaking QB.

I think TO is perfect for St. Louis. He was fantastic in Cincy with their young receivers, they all loved him and gave him a lot of credit for teaching them how to work and practice harder. I suspect the Rams will have a prominent rookie and it would be a good learning experience. Their team is tight enough to handle when he forgets to keep his mouth shut...I think. He's gotta be 100% recovered from his knee though because he's the kind of guy that will not risk further damage by rushing an injury, he cares about his body too much.

Ocho belongs as a Raider. I could see him in Washington too. I think his value is a lot lower than most people think. The Skins offered 2 1sts three years ago, now they can probably get him for a 5th.

I want to see this happen.

I wanted to see if anyone else also felt Oakland would be a good place for Ocho, not Owens.

good suggestions so far imo. the rams might take a chance on T.O. Sam Bradford had an amazing rookie season. from the get go you can tell this guy is going to be a solid quarterback in the NFL. the numbers bradford put up, he did all that without a legit #1 receiver. T.O. is getting up there in age but i think he can still put up the numbers he had in cincy next season. that would really help out the qb in his sophomore season.

Ochocinco to oakland is also a good suggestion. they have a solid football team. Jason Campbell was decent but also working without a legit #1 receiver. having Chad there would really help out the offense. Darren McFadden's career is finally heading into the right direction after a slow start in his first 2 seasons.

here's another one... anybody think T.O. and Chad team up again?

I think Chad and TO will try to get on the same team again considering how well they get along. TO on a contender will be very motivated and probably put up better numbers than many guys much younger than him. St Louis is a good fit for him, but I see him probably wanting to sign with a team that will give him the best chance at making the playoffs.

Chad Ochocinco had his option picked up by Cincy.
