Chauncey's hesitation to go to NJ not a factor. Billups will get full $14 mill next season from NJ. That was his main concern. 15 minutes ago via Echofon Retweeted by 10 people

Duh

It was quite obvious, I kept writing he'd love to play the next 2 seasons for the Nets if that means a fully guaranteed last year. Some people here were being extremely naive about that (and those who believe that Melo will pass on the opportunity to sign an extension this season to go play here and there are still being naive).

What's up with the PG-SG relation that certain duos have? Rip + Billups, Mobley + Francis, Bryant + Fisher... Is it just me, or do some backcourt duos seem to be curiously tied together to the point where at least one will falter badly without the other?

I like Newark. Some neighbourhoods, the third ward, that area of Forest Hill, Roseville.... they're charming and enjoyable to be around. There's a certain je ne sais quoi about that city.

However, if Melo isn't a fan, he just needs to enter a limo, get out of it in a parking lot, stay a couple of hours in a basketball arena that looks pretty much like every other basketball arena in the world, go back to the limo and he'll be back in downtown NY or wherever he wants to be in a matter of minutes. And it's not like he has to do this daily or anything remotely close to it. Newark is completely irrelevant.

Nobody likes Newark. It`s the Compton of the east coast.

Saying you like Newark is like saying you enjoy chlamydia.

Well they can agree to a seperate deal that would be Vujacic for Harrington straight up. Thats a lot of money left on harringtons contract for a 30 yr/old but it would give them a deeper front court. I wouldn't do it but they came this far so who knows.

Billups/Farmar/Carter
Hamilton/Uzoh(If he isn't in trade)
Melo/Outlaw/Jones
Humpries/Williams
Lopez/Harrington

Sign a veteran guard or two and thats a nice team, not a contender but it would be one of the strongest 7th/8th seeds weve had in a while.

Say NO to any overpaid players from nuggets.
Harrington sucks,I hate him in nuggets uniform and I hate him even more if he wears Nets uniform.

Looks like the deal is going to be made, per Broussard, but NJ wants to dump another contract onto NJ.

DENVER is delusional...I hope NJN backs out and that DEN loses Melo for nothing in summer.

This is unreal what they are demanding...greedy bastards

They want to get under thE cap saving around 30 mil in salaries and tax money...want multiple picks, Favors and get rid of Harrington

UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Billups won't hold up deal, but sources just told me he will either want a buyout after season or a long-term commitment (extension) from NJ 7 minutes ago via Echofon

WTH? They have the asset everyone wants, so why would they not try and barter the best deal available to them?

Denver is better off dealing with Houston if they are this stubborn. Morey will probably give them everything they wants.

What's exactly unbelievable? That they are trying to maximize their assets? That's what Ujiri and his staff are paid to do. And it's time for people to understand that for months Denver's leverage was understated.

they are stubborn but can't say I blame them., that is what they supposed to be doing They are better off making a two team deal with NJ or dealing with Houston.

Well, there is always some risk to getting too greedy, and making the entire deal fall apart. That being said, I think Denver knows that the Nets have swallowed the hook, line and sinker and they can pretty much just reel them in asking whatever they want.

They said the Nets would gaurantee his contract for next year (which was only partially gauranteed). I think that's the best he'll get. I don't see him demanding to be bought out instead of playing with his best friend Rip and Carmelo.

This seems like it's all worked out but the Nuggets want to try and milk everything out they can.
