yes, absolutely. i would rather have wallace on my team over boris. so much more to basketball than just pure talent, right? wallace is more athletic, has more heart, hustle, as well as being pretty talented himself... except all-star games. wallace playing half-assed is awful to watch. boris playing half-assed is still rather entertaining.

I looked at our Hammers, and here's 3,4,5 so far

Augustin: 3g,5s,6b = 25
Thomas: 3g,5s,2b = 21
Diaw: 4g,2s,5b = 21

DJ has gotten the hammer 14 times in however many games he's played. Thomas only ten, and Diaw 11. I'm surprised at Thomas, but it's probably related to his lack of minutes.

Jk but on a more serious note it is easily Tyrus Thomas, if he could play to his full potential on a consistent nightly basis he would be in the discussion for MVP..... He scores ~12 points a game with just 20 minuetes of play time, bring that up to 40 and its 24 points..

I think if he was getting more minutes and points they might focus more defense on him than he could really handle. If a post man is scoring ~25 ppg he's gonna get double teamed.

I think if he was getting more minutes and points they might focus more defense on him than he could really handle. If a post man is scoring ~25 ppg he's gonna get double teamed.

Per 40 minuetes he scores 26.5 points, that is not a bull stat, it is his actual PER..... You are correct he would be guarded more, however it is hard to argue that he isnt super talented.... I think he would at least get 17-20 points in 40 minuetes (and be inconsistent as hell)

Gerald Wallace or Stephen Jackson would be the best defensively skill wised IMO, If Tyrus Thomas wasn't so foul prone I would say that his abilityto block & alter shots would put him ahead of Diaw in terms of defensive presence aswell.

Diaw has shown flashes of all around ability & high basketball IQ followed by bouts of mediocrity & inconsistency all throughout his career, he (sometimes) puts in a good defensive effort with good positional awareness & even though people knock his rebounding statistics he does put a lot of effort into boxing out, but since we play him at the 4 I dont believe we will win many games without the ability to intimidate in the low post.

The comment about phoenix is that in a run'n'gun system even though he was sometimes playing at the 5 his deficiencies were covered by the intimidating post presence of Amare(Though Diaw exploded the year amare was out I believe) & Shawn Marion.

Diaw's talent hasn't managed to come out in Atlanta nor in Charlotte & Dantoni's system is known to inflate player's statistics.

Diaw's career is justifying of his selection in the 2003 draft if not the salary he's earned throughout his career under the perception that he is a legit bigman & his tantalising potential, he is a very talented player though to say he is our third most talented player is just sad imo.

i would probably agree that boris is the best all-around defender on the team. he is certainly the smartest defender on the team. he gets the most out of the least amount of effort. he is probably the best man v man post defender and he is the best at boxing out. he is quick enough to get out and challenge the pick and roll and still recover. obviously his main flaws are his help defense, his lack of effort sometimes and that he isnt really disruptive.

wallace and tyrus are both great help defenders but really lack the focus and bball iq to really lock down their own man on a consistent basis. neither is interested in boxing out.

jax just isnt quick enough to hang with the faster sgs. he is better suited to defender sfs.

hendo could become the teams best defender one day. he is showing signs of having that kind of defensive potential.

I'm not sure Wallace has great basketball skill.

Not trying to hate but the dude succeeds on his hard work and his no fear attitude. He's not the greatest shooter and his offensive game is lacking. It's kind of hard to define talent. While Wallace might be one of our best players, her certainly doesn't have the most talent.

Wallace definitely isn't the most talented, like Rich pointed out. Diaw is the more talented player and so is Jack.
