Why would Denver do this? They're clearly entering a rebuilding mode, and thus have no use for any of those guys. Harris, at least can be used as a trade chip in the future for Denver.

Wilcox/T-Mac are expirings

T-Mac would still be good for ticket sales

Bynum is a cheap backup to Lawson.

if RIP plays today = no deal today = no deal in the near future, Jersey would trade half their roster, they need to do this trade with some days off

Nuggets waiting until the deadline?

http://espn.go.com/blog/TrueHoop/post/_ ... hony-trade

After a big round of Carmelo Anthony phone calls, I predict there won't be a completed trade until close to the February 24 trade deadline.

Maybe the Nets need to give Denver a deadline.

They know nobody will beat their offer.

Tell Denver good luck on re-signing Melo in the offseason and move on if they don't make the deal within the next 48 hours.

Denver can't hold out until the trade deadline unless they want to spend the next few weeks watching their fans boo Melo.

I say its better to keep Hamilton and watch the Nuggets get NOTHING for Melo than it is to give into their demands now....

Ditto. I think this deal has quietly slipped out of our grasp. A damned shame.

The Pistons aren't the ones holding up the deal. They've agreed to it, New Jersey has agreed to the deal. Denver is just being ridiculous with their demands, which is funny because they have NO leverage here. Melo isn't LeBron for chrissakes, and if they are going to demand this much for him, they can just watch him expire and suffer the same fate as Cleveland... getting NOTHING in return.
