Re: [Camelo Thread Part 7]
What about a 3 way trade?
Denver gets: Favors, Gallo, Randolph, 2 1st round picks.
NJ gets: Harrington, Billups
NY gets: Carmelo

Not to help the opposition, but if the Nyets had any respect for themselves, their smartest move is to start shopping Favors around for someone like Granger or others. Sitting around waiting for Melo and the Nuggets is pathetic but it's also bad negotiation.

Didn't the Nets go after Granger in the off-season? I am surprised they are not trying again, while they wait for Denver.

I would be shocked Prokorov knew who Danny Granger was. You heard this dude, he wants to take this city by storm so he wants big names. He doesn't care how desperate he looks as long as he gets his man. In theory, your probably right but in all honesty the best thing would be for them to just right the ship the old fashion way with young players and draft picks. They have like 5 of them in the next 2 years with Lopez and Favors on board they could build a good young team ala the Thunder and Blazers without destroying their "farm system" so to speak.

Isn't that what we're doing too? I'm sure there's other moves Donnie can do but he's not until Melo is traded.

You can't equate the two. The Knicks are winning first of all and already have their Max. And they don't have two lottery picks and another pick on the table, with another team lined up waiting to be part of the deal, with the Nets also ready to absorb the big salaries of two over-the-hill vets just to get Melo.
The Knicks don't lose anything by this stretching out -- in fact, the longer it goes, the better it is for the Knicks. The Nets want this deal yesterday, today or tomorrow but Melo is saying "Let's wait, not now."
Two totally different bargaining positions. In fact, they're the polar opposites. Longer this goes, the more it favors the Knicks. Nets are being strung along because they're not Melo's preferred choice. Longer it goes, worse it is for the Nyets.
If the Nets start shopping Favors, then the Nuggets (and Melo perhaps) might stop taking their big offer for granted.

excellent point
completely agree, seems the nets are missing out on an opportunity to push back a little bit here and stop basically being bullied in negotiations.

With all the leaked information, I don't think the Nuggets can wait that much longer....before ALL their leverage is gone.

What, you don't follow Joe Budden's twitter feed?
Nothing. Absolutely nothing has happened. I mean there have been a gajillion twitter updates and reports from basically every NBA writer. But it all amounts to nothing. Zilch in the last 8 hours. Go to sleep for another four weeks, and I'm sure you won't miss much.

that shouldnt be a reason to take yourself out of the race to get a superstar on your team.
