even if thats true, which we cant be sure of, thats not the reason melo isnt a knick right now

Stop making things up. There is literally no evidence to support what you are saying.

Either he took Frank Isola's dumb article as true -- ie. the one claiming that Amar'e wants to be the man and doesn't want Melo in NY...OR

He's hoping that his statements get NY to ante up, cause his agent and Denver are probably feeding him BS that Knicks aren't really interested and aren't willing to give up assets like NJ are.

All in all though, I'm getting more worried that Melo will eventually settle on NJ if NY doesn't come up to bat. If coming to the Knicks were his priority over the extension, he would've just come out and flat out said that he ain't signing anything unless it's with NY. But we're 4 months in, and he has yet to flat out reject NJ's advances, and as long as NJ keeps thinking they have a shot, they'll keep trying.

And there's no way we're beating NJ's package, so if Melo really wants to come to NY, he has to just come out and demand to be traded here. None of this waffling bullchit.

Christ...

Can we stop pretending this is happening because NY hasn't "come to bat"? Denver is the one who won't engage us in talks

I didn't mean NY hasn't come to bat. I meant Melo gets the erroneous perception that we didn't come to bat (ie. didn't really want him) from his agents and the Nuggets, so he settles on NJ.

I would believe that if he didn't have a direct pipeline to Walsh through Amare

How convenient...

Even if you had the time to find articles, you won't find one with Donnie saying anything. Every single one would be speculation on the writer's part, because Denver never negotiated with us.

The most definitive thing Donnie ever said was that he was not gutting the team. He has been consistent on that.

And also he would only make a trade this season that makes us significantly better.

yes, there have been no articles that directly cite sources within the knicks FO about what packages were being discussed.

we have however, have many reports for months now that denver is not interested in dealing with the knicks

in the summer donnie said that this was a business and that sometimes you have to trade players you dont want to (re: gallo). everyone took this as a reference to a possible melo trade but nothing more.

Assuming this is true...

Your telling me an offer cannot change after a couple months? Especially when your struggling to bring a team onto the discussion table due to said team's stupid feelings over a toast.

This Melo madness is officially now on Lebron James/He Got Game level.

Media is so freaking crazy in this country/world. Journalists should have to apply for a license and there should be a board that governs ethics. Too many erroneous articles and you get suspended.

If you look at the Lebron James' situation/decision - every journalist was wrong with the exception of Steven A. Smith. And he was probably just lucky. So why do we buy into any of this?

the media knows nothing at this point...i couldve sworn the media had it as "Melo will only sign extension if traded to the Knicks" and "NJ is only willing to trade for Melo if he guarantees extension"....yet there is still a trade in the works...reason being...the media knows nothing

Actually what has been reported as late as yesterday is that the Knicks have asked Denver for guidance on what they want and we have been given zero guidance. Nothing Donnie can do at this point, except have his cell phone next to him when he naps.

For the most part, the level-headed posters haven't. It makes no sense on so many levels.

Stephen A actually guaranteed the Knicks during the season and then said the Heat 2 days before Lebron announced his decision but Stephen A has been most right

It was much more than 2 days in advance.

SAS said Lebron was going to Miami like 3 weeks before "The Decision"
