This going to end up a 2 way deal IMO the original Favors + Murphy + 3 Draft Picks + Salary for Anthony + Harrington + Balkman deal in February IMO.

Ok Denver's just being extremely greedy. There's nothing wrong with shooting for the stars but I don't think that they're going to get a better deal than the one currently constructed

Your confusing Broussard with Steven A. Smith. Broussard had Lebron going everywhere but the Heat this summer.

I think Denver has to be careful. They are probably thinking we can always do the NJ trade later, but I think the further the Nets fall from the playoffs, the less willing Melo is going to be to go there. If Melo really is willing to sign then I don't know how you not do that deal

I think Denver wants to wait to make sure their picks are lottery bound to be honest.

I think he's certainly worth it, but it doesn't mean I think Portland should give him up.

They should limit their offer to either the lesser of the two picks they own and a choice of Babbitt or Williams and Johnson or Johnson and both picks, at best...

If they were dealing with NJ straight up and it had nothing to do with the Melo trade, then maybe they would have to give up Batum, but more likely both picks, but Portland is in a good position to get a steal out of this, maybe one pick and Miller.

I think as desperate as NJ is to acquire Melo, that there is a breaking point and if it drags out that long, King is going to pull the Nets 2011 pick off the table.

Also, I know this is a long term deal if Melo agrees to it, but he can't be happy going to the Nets if they are say 14 and 36 at the All Star break with no chance of making the playoffs, opposed to right now where they can go about 30-15 and make the 8 seed.

Sure Melo is all about the money, but he's also is competitive and wants to win.

He knows NJ is going to make a play at a player like Chris Paul and therefore Billups time is limited in NJ, so I'm sure he at least wants a crack at it with a playoff birth this year.

IF Pacers are really considering trading Granger than Nets are better off going after him. Hell wouldn't hurt to try during their Anthony hunt waiting on Denver.

Yeah, but if I remember RealGM logic correctly, going to a contender and "ring chasing in your prime" is the wrong thing to do. Also "no player turns down money".

On a serious note, if his #1 and #2 priorities are money and to be in NY (or close to it, hey he can live in NY and play in NJ in the meanwhile) then the Nets meet his demands. If money is of concern he signs the extension to secure the straight-cash-homie and not worry about the new CBA.

Oh really? I love the internets...

LeBron James is leaning towards joining Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade on the Miami Heat, according to Chris Broussard of ESPN.

Broussard reports that the dial on the LeBron-o-meter is hovering dangerously close to Miami, and that LeBron has, “concerns about signing a six-year deal [in Cleveland] and ending up ‘31 years old, with bad knees and no title.’”

Thought I had remembered that article, wasn't sure thanks. And they just talked about the trade on Sportscenter and I agree with Legs, Melo's going to have to think long and hard about this. If he goes to the Knicks in FA, then he will win, but if he goes to NJ with the roster they will have and they fail to acquire Paul to along with him and Lopez then he's screwed.

You see the bolded part there. That is the clue to knowing it was after SAS reported it and when ESPN's reporters and their "sources" where finally in agreement.

Well, he was talking pretty openly about going to New Jersey on NBA TV today. Although very briefly, he addressed Billups in New Jersey, and that would not really make any sense unless he is ready to make the move.

I think it is a poor move by him, but he is free to make his own bad decisions. It is worth remembering that 90% of all professional athletes are dumb as bricks, and if Leon Rose tells him this is a great idea, he might very well believe that to be true.
