Didn't want to start a new thread about this, but what about Nene?
Player option for next year, if Denver rebuilds he might decide to opt out and get a long term contract with bigger $$ in the face of a lockout. Turns 29 this summer...pretty solid stats, big physical low post presence.

Sure.

I would take a flyer on him. Lets see if Bargnani and our wing defense is passable with a legit center on the roster without the massive commitment of years of dollars they normally command.

However I am not sure given the salaries how we could make a deal work?

Raptors trade: Kleiza, Barbosa, and Evans
Raptors get: Caron Butler (useless ending deal) + Garcia (same basic contract as Kleiza)

Mavs trade: Butler
Mavs get: Kleiza + $5 mill trade exception

Kings trade: Garcia
Kings get: Barbosa and Evans

It's a pretty good trade for every team, but as far as i know, you're not allowed to use TPE with another player.

No one is trading a trade exception, the Kings are just taking on extra salary with their cap space, which creates the trade exception for Dallas.

Yeah, I'm running on the assumption that Melo gets traded and Nene opts out to take something like a 5 year deal. He makes 11mil right now which I think is good for his production, and if Denver goes full re-build I'm not sure they offer more. What I would do, is offer 5 year 50 mil contract starting @ 11 and declining 1 mil per year (sorta like Andrea's but in reverse).

Then our only real hole is SF...can draft/trade

Fronting a contract might be the least attractive thing ever for FA's.

Just make it base and offer a ton of incentives that can make the 5 year contract worth as little as 40M or as much as 60M.

What part of my post said POR office said any of this?

I'm saying a lot of people think Portland won't match a 5 year 50M offer for Greg, after having so much money committed to Roy and Aldridge. Its a 9M qualifying offer and it depends on Portland thinks hes even worth that. Hes played in so few games and that kind of money might not fit their future plans. I think they will easily accept a unprotected high lottery pick for an injury prone center who is hitting restricted free agency.

Peja, Barbosa and Weems to Utah for Kirilenko, Raja and Watson

Kirilenko might be the SF we are looking for so he gets a try-out (to see if he gels with the core) before we offer him any type of contract, Bell is a tough defender with ties to BC and Watson is a quality back-up at the point.

With Okur's health issues they could use Peja's 3 pt shooting, Barbosa is hell of a 6th man that can play some back-up minutes at the point (not many minutes there with Deron getting huge minutes). And if Weems is redundant here with Derozan emerging, he might get some quality minutes in Sloan's system.

heres a move i see BC making. He would make it to push us into the 8th seed which i think this does and gets us some young players.

To Toronto: Andres Biedrins + Brandon Wright + Charlie Bell
To Golden State: Reggie Evans + Peja Stojakovic + Joey Dorsey

Calderon / Bayless / Bell
Derozan / Barbosa
Klezia / Weems / J.Wright
Bargnani / Davis / B.Wright
Biedrins / Johnson / Alabi

GSW saves 13 million dollars next year. Biedrins is averaging 6 and 9 in 27 minutes. Hes also only 25 the same age as Bargnani so he would fit with our core.

Its an interesting idea.
Kirilenko & a vet like Bell would be interesting in this mega young locker room.

However it should be noted that the Utah is 25-13, and this deal takes away two of their starters it also doesn't help them eliminate the 6m over the tax threshold they are.

If the Jazz really wanted to save salary a Kirilenko for Peja trade saves them 2.8m in cap, and 2.8m in tax which is no small chunk of change.

However, what is the "thank you very much component" for assisting them?
They lack a first.

If they opted to do Hayward for the TPE its another 2.5m in cap and 2.5 million in tax,
But again they are in 5th in the west, I am not sure how eager they are to start moving core pieces.

I would be fine with a deal like that;
However the vast majority of this board and the GSW board would not.

I like Beans,
He is solid, young, and on what I consider to be a very reasonable contract.

He is tossing up 6/9/1 for 9m.
Most of us would toss 9m per over five years for a guy like DeAndre Jordon who is tossing up 7/7 in similar minutes this season.

That is also the same reason I don't see the Warriors unloading him for cap relief.
They have Gadz and VladRad coming off the books this summer so their are not really begging for cap relief.

From most Raps fans perspectives, Beans is a "Bad Contract" we would much rather create our own longer and uglier long term contract on a UFA/RFA center then take another teams shorter deal on a similar player.

Indeed, lateral move for Utah.
They are on track to the playoffs, and they don't need to trade anyone to get Peja.

Also, it is not a good trade for us, because we are not getting any prospect or picks, but giving up Weems and Barbosa.

I don't see neither side wants to do this.

^^ I think DeAndre is a better option at the same contract as Beans because he's two years younger, a better shotblocker (1.7bpg vs. 0.8bpg), and is the better offensive player because of his near 70% efficiency (also has a 116 ORtg vs Beans' 109).

I think he's the better post defender as well, and their respective DRtg's do back this up (104 for DeAndre vs 107 for Beans). DJ also hasn't had the same injury concerns as Biedrins, and is simply a bigger, more athletic C who still has a lot of room to improve. Beans' remaining 4 years will take him through to when he's 28, I think I'd rather have Deandre on a 5/6 year deal that will also take him through to that age.
