So Denver leaked to Wojo the fact that they told NJ to stop leaking?

This reporter is so full of it.

I hate myself for doing this...but IF by some miracle this were true - and that's a big if - wouldn't Denver essentially be admitting to Carmelo that a trade with NY is possible? Has to be BS though.

I wouldn't get my hopes up. Denver's threat is empty. They're just using the Knicks in order to keep NJN in line and extract the maximum package that they can. You'll notice that once Denver said the Knicks the Nets went into 'Massa mode and did exactly what they wanted.

Smart move by Denver. Take the nets for as much as you think you can get, then in the last 24 hours float the Knicks as a possible destination, and see how NJ reacts. My bet is King will cave on any demand Denver has in order to keel CA out of MSG.

Do you really believe this threat is real? I think this story is just as bs as all the reports that this deal was done yesterday

Don't read too much into that. Chandler always tweets random crap like that. Check his timeline.

True. I know the guy loves to post lyrics to rap songs. Not for nothing but he's got some pretty good taste in rap. Anyway, I'm off for the night only to check RealGM as soon as I wake up to see if Melo's been traded.

If we needed any more evidence that dubya's sources aren't reliable, last night gave us plenty.

This is exactly where we were back in September.

1. NJ has to satisfy Denver's trade demands.

2. Melo has to ok an extension to NJ.

The Knicks only had a shot if Melo was willing to play hard ball. Nothing has changed. It doesn't matter how close Denver gets to a deal until we hear that Melo has approved said deal.

And by that we don't mean "a league executive who said the Nets were extremely confident Anthony would sign with them."

Ha! True or not, funny that the Knicks are finally being mentioned, in one way or another. . . . perhaps this is Denver's way of pretending like they're doing it out of spite when they had no choice the entire time.. or so we can hope.

This is definitely an empty threat though. Hilarious though. Maybe I'm missing something but:

A. How can you leak a story telling another franchise to stop leaking stuff? I don't believe the Nets are willing to leak this and play Russian Roulette with the deal so who else could have done it?

2. How can you deal with the Knicks out of spite (due to the leaks) when you were dealing with NJ and not NY before due to spite (due to what happened at the wedding). Huh?

The spin is strong with this one. Either from the Nuggets or Woja herself.

this carmelo situation is turning out to be a big joke

"Nuggets now asking Nets to find a taker for the Honda Accord sitting in Kroenke's driveway for the past three months."

yea i agree. I love how ppl on the board (including myself sometimes) believe Woj or broussard when its something positive for us and immediately discard anything the same reporters say when its something negative for us.
